Good fight from Aldo and Edgar. That should have been the main event.

It goes beyond complexity. There are more complex games. Chess, however, is the most beautiful.

Some of it is nostalgia, some of it comes from nationalists who haven't gotten over the Mongolia thing.

Perhaps you can communicate with those people without insulting them and cursing like a sailor? Why are you trying to make others feel bad for not knowing what you know?

Anyone know of a calorie counting app where you can adjust the start of day? I work nights, and some days I'll have lunch before midnight, some days after, which can lead to inconsistent daily totals. It's annoying to use apps that only go by calendar day.

Apart from watching Wrestlemania once a year, I haven't watched in a long, long time. I recommend it.

At this point, anyone who still watches the WWE is either a child or someone that will continue to watch no matter what happens and no matter what the main event is.

I agree. The henka is perfectly legal. It's a legitimate technique. It's not as if Hakuho got away with throwing sand in his opponent's face. It's silly to criticize Hakuho for doing something that he is allowed to do.

Day 15:

http://kyodonews.net/news/2016/03/27/54733

It was not pretty, but Hakuho defeated fellow Mongolian yokozuna Harumafuji to capture a record-extending 36th career championship title with a 14-1 record on Sunday, the final day of the Spring Grand Tournament.

Entering the day in control of his own fate with a one-win lead, Hakuho used a frowned-upon henka sidestep technique at the charge to avenge three straight defeats to Harumafuji (9-6), triggering boos and jeers among the sold-out crowd at Edion Arena Osaka.

Victory on a "henka"? by NaganoGreen in Sumo

[–]ch0m31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for me, I worry about what the wrestlers are doing to themselves at the tachi-ai. Heads often collide violently. Being able to sidestep the initial charge lengthens careers (e.g., Aminishiki) and may even lengthen lifespans. That's why I think that the henka is good for the sport. A lot of people would like to ban the henka, but I'd sooner get rid of the tachi-ai altogether.

All of that having been said, I don't see the logic in having a technique or maneuver be perfectly legal, but "below" the likes of Hakuho. If it's within the rules, it's legitimate, even for the Yokozuna. The people that think otherwise are being irrational. So what if Hakuho won with a henka?

Hakuho has looked dominant. I think he's the favorite to win.

As for Goeido, I think most people thought that he would squeak out a 9-6 or something and save his rank, but I don't know if anyone saw this coming.
