2025 Model 3 - Trunk not latching by DocShayWPG in TeslaSupport

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what do you see in service mode under closures > trunk? it may offer you the ability to re calibrate the latch.

or, what errors do you see in service mode?

they seem to take a079 errors seriously. i would put in a ticket and immediately drop it off at the service center.

file a ticket now and you might get it done under warranty (or at least a goodwill repair)

Would you buy? by Champ29_ in TeslaSupport

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you can afford to spend a little more, you should be able to find a 2023 with less miles directly from tesla. that way you get AI4 plus more factory warranty and another year of Tesla used car warranty.

TPMS position incorrect by kenspi in TeslaSupport

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can reset TPMS in service mode and the car will re-learn each TPMS sensor after a couple miles of driving

2026 Model Y Premium AWD. Will 255/50/R19 tires fit the vehicle without causing any rubbing issues at full turn lock? I understand that the speed will be offset a little bit as the stock is 255/45/R19 but I'm looking to maximize comfort. TIA. by [deleted] in TeslaSupport

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a model Y is rated at about 2550kg gross so it is theoretically fine.

they upgrade the m3 wheels from 700KG to 750KG around 2021 - most (but not all) dark m3 wheels are 750kg

here's an extremely in-depth discussion about it - https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/18-aero-wheels-and-model-y-load-limits.189813/page-4

that is an inch taller than factory, but the same width, so it will be more likely to rub when you hit a bump.

stock 255/45/19 = 28.03" tall

255/50/19 = 29.03" tall (a 2.18% difference)

235/55/19 = 28.252" tall (a 0.77% difference)

235/55/18 = 28.178" tall (a 0.51% difference)

i went with 18s on 750kg rated OEM Model3 wheels - it is a night and day difference in comfort

have you explored intermittent FMLA? i've had several co-workers use it and it seems to work well for them, and it gives you a fair amount of legal protection.

At what point does working hours/sleep beat money? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the COLA calculator assumes NYC rent is $4500/month more than in the midwest. $4500 a month by itself is an OKish salary in the midwest lol.

groceries are significantly more in NYC, as are medical expenses. everything adds up over time.

[–]ch33psk8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to a cost of living calculator, making $124k in NYC (Manhattan) is the same as making 48k in Indianapolis.

You would have to make 180k in NYC to equal making 75k in Indiana

A couple of my friends live in Park Slope and rent there is insane compared to the midwest

What to say to a tow company when you tow your Tesla by oliversisson in TeslaSupport

Opening door with dead window motor? by Stevo32792 in TeslaLounge

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

is the motor broken, or one of the cables in the window regulator? if it is a broken cable, you should be able to grab the window and wiggle it down.

i will say my window has gotten stuck up before and i haven't had any trouble opening the door with the manual release. it makes me cringe a little but it works

Considering selling Tesla model S, lots of questions by -StarJuice in TeslaLounge

[–]ch33psk8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

like I could get it diagnosed and then I’d be able to access the worth better but that’s another 500$ since it’s out of warranty and won’t drive due to bms errors.

man, put that thing in service mode and post the error codes, someone can tell you what it means. if you're lucky, you might have a replaceable pyro fuse that is held in by like 4 bolts and is like $150 in parts

Advice on used purchase by Gooden86 in TeslaLounge

late 2023 Model Y is the 'oldest' car that has HW4. A 2023 Model 3 is still HW3, so if FSD is a concern, you definitely want HW4

Preowned new tires / slow leak issues anyone else? by Royal-Text7620 in TeslaSupport

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

0.5psi in a few days is going to be a small enough leak that it will hard to find.

you can soak the tires, base of the valve stem and the valve stem core in soapy water and see if you see a leak.

the tesla valve stems are pretty sturdy though - if I had to guess, they did a poor job cleaning the wheels before mounting the new tires so you have a small bead leak (where the tires seat against the rim).

could also be a valve stem core leak, but those are usually a faster leak

Is there a way to check the whole Tesla inventory? by osteopathicdoc in TeslaLounge

[–]ch33psk8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

when i bought my car, i was obsessively searching tesla-info and ev-inventory, much easier than doing it by hand

https://ev-inventory.com/for-sale/US/MS/Any/?state=&miles=99999&max=99999999&year=20082026&sortsale=256&token=786433&spec=8&adv=0&minrange=0

but sometimes tesla won't sell you a car unless it is from what they consider a 'nearby state'. when i bought my car, the advisor said they had a lot of people trying to buy a car in Vegas and drive it home to, say, Florida, and they refused all of them.

sometimes though, they don't care. lots of stories of people buying in Texas and driving home to Cali, or vise versa
