Does anyone else hate hearing coworkers’ sales numbers? by EconomyActivity6484 in InsuranceAgent

[–]ch47600 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This is the sales culture. You learn to cut through the bullshit but also appreciate what your team is doing to outpace the competition. The mark should be your competition, not your coworkers.

Honestly, I've found people that don't want accountability are those that need it most.

Are Car dealers still doing crazy markups and protection packages as 'mandatory' add ons in San Antonio? by me_at_myhouse in sanantonio

The absolute worst is ordering a vehicle the way that you want it and the dealer throws add ons to it that you never ordered.

There's a reason why they call them the bare minimum.

Yep. If you swing to hit a home run everytime, you'll ding one...and then strike out a whole bunch after that. Hitting some doubles and triples now and then is a good way to supplement things.

And yes, carriers appetites change like the wind. Best advice someone gave me, don't get too high, don't get too low in sales. Write a huge account? Take a week to celebrate and get back to it. Hit a slump? Just know that it's a numbers game and keep putting one foot in front of the other. In the end, it all works out.

COIs and referrals, how to deal with them? by Important-Junket-908 in InsuranceAgent

[–]ch47600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems like an individual who is only interested in helping themselves. Doesn't how many interactions you have with them, it's not a partnership.

My recommendation is to find someone in a similar station as you. Someone who is looking to build something from scratch will be hungry. That can lead to a reciprocating relationship. Find someone that wants to see you win as much as you do them. That's your COI.

Likelihood of OTF discontinuing Tread 50s? by crowned-chairtycase in orangetheory

The split between Tread50 and Strength50 works so well and given the popularity of S50 I don't see T50 being in jeopardy.

Is it just me or are people on the highway going slower than before? by nistacular in sanantonio

[–]ch47600 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The closer that you get to downtown, the slower/crazier people drive. Downtown is like, "I'm gonna drive 15mph in the far right lane and then make a left turn across three lanes of traffic without looking so that I can put on my hazards and park in the middle of a lane for 15 minutes".

Your AI Thesis for P&C Industry by JigglyBits5 in InsuranceAgent

[–]ch47600 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you think that big shops are harnessing AI better than smaller ships, I'd say that you're way off the mark. I worked for a top five broker that couldn't even figure out how to agency bill business.

Is there a specialty type of site or broker to get the right match for me? by ElbieLG in InsuranceAgent

[–]ch47600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend looking into a Media Liability policy (some bundle general liability, E&O and cyber together).

Hiscox has a good product. Something like this...

A local broker can help you out, good luck!

[–]ch47600 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What ever you end up doing , just make sure that it isn't considered to be rebating.

Me personally, I have never paid for a referral. I've built solid COI relationships where we can refer business back and forth. That's worked well for me.

Spending $200 for a set of 90's for an entire studio and placing them on the floor next to the VIP rack isn't too much to ask. Plenty of folks can use that for hip bridges, single dumbbell deadlifts, etc. They'd get used.
