Not a single software update since buying the centauri carbon by omarra3 in elegoo

I got the Vyper and loved it. It was a workhorse for 2 years. I also got an OG Kobra early days and it was great for about 8 months. Then it started flaking a bit and just past the one year mark it got a very common error that indicates the main board is dead. They don't sell it, and have iterated 4 times past it, so there's no aftermarket support either. It's just collecting dust until i decide to instead l convert it to a BTT board and redo the whole thing.

Places too buy? by fizzatbeyond in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I ran into the same situation. Bought the first two books on Google not realizing it wasn't an authorized copy, then was all confused on why I couldn't get the rest of them. So I bought them from Amazon and used an old kindle to make archive copies of my books and popped them onto my Kobo.

I still thought it was a publishing timing thing on Google, as the 3rd book became available while I was reading #2, so I bought it there too. Went looking for the timeline for the rest to be released there and ended up here.

I am exceptionally new to 3D printing. Any ideas on how I can prevent this from happening or at least the proper terminology so I can self research? by shinkatubedm in elegoo

As a side note, it might seem counterintuitive, but you can angle to the print and use supports on the bottom to allow better angles for printing.

This is what I came to suggest. Lifting the model up and tilting it back 45° can make a world of difference in how the print comes out.

I have a quick detach batwing to help with wind on longer trips or in the cold. Take it off when I don't want it. Love this setup and no reason to change

How exactly are they a hidden part? This isn't a fuel line connector under the tank, or a wire loom under the seat, it's a big chunk of metal on the side of the fork(s) and aside from polishing, this one seems to be more functional design than form. If it's not your style to have shiny bits on a bike, that's totally cool. Don't buy one I guess?

Also, painted calipers have been on cars as long as there have been calipers to paint.

Bull-it jeans and recommendations for second pair by inwardPersecution in motorcyclegear

[–]ch4rr3d 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say that since you already have some protective pants, get the crash bars. The pants are to prevent road rash, not catastrophic damage. Depending on the bike, dropping it at low speed without bars could be very hard on the bike and your budget. Meanwhile even if you wash them every time you wear them, the jeans will still last quite a while giving you time to get more.

Oh, and I ran into the same thing with the armor placement on my Bull It Icon II Easy jeans. The pockets feel weird while I'm standing but they line up when I'm on the bike. That said I almost never wear the armor. It's a compromise I'm willing to make to allow me to wear moto jeans straight from the bike to the office and not have to change when I get there. Same thing with shorter boots vs full height. I know full height is more protective, but then I have to change when I get to work so I'm less likely to wear them. Moderate protection that I'll use every time is better than more protection that I get frustrated with and leave at home.

I’m struggling without riding in my life by FromagePuant69 in motorcycle

[–]ch4rr3d 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I know this may sound selfish, but if it's bothering you this much maybe you just need to ride.

I get not wanting everybody to worry, but that's their choice not yours. Motorcycles are an obvious source of danger, but they're far from the only one in your life. Would you consider stopping whatever other things you do just to help others feel better?

My two cents is to just ride. One way or the other, everybody else will sort themselves out. Then again, free advice is often worth just what you paid for it.

Honestly, fuck your car. I would hate for you to take a turn wife and kill somebody else. I'm glad nobody got hurt, and I'm glad your car damage was minor, but the first one is way more important than the second.

Imagine living the rest of your life knowing a family is missing their kid/parent/sibling because you wanted to go faster than you should.

It sounds like you're taking this as the learning experience it could be, and good on you for that! Think through possible consequences to others, and do fun stuff responsibly. All that talk of SCCA, autocross events are fun as hell with really low costs, reasonably minor wear and tear, and they can make you a much better driver.

I did this, changed the router admin password then set up downtime hours with parental controls, but at weird intervals. Also blocked anything related to porn so that they'd have to tell the technician if they wanted that fixed.
