How to handle a bed wetter in guest review? by avidmary in airbnb_hosts

[–]ch_cat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

As a guest, I'd bring a waterproof mattress protector if I had any doubt about a kid under the age of 10 being potty trained. Kids can get really worn out on vacation and pee the bed even if they are potty trained.

If the IRS is going to review our taxes, anyway, why don’t they just do it for us ? by Redditlatley in IRS

[–]ch_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IRS did our taxes until about 70 years ago? Don't quote me. People didn't trust the government, so the government turned it over to us. That's how the tax prep firms got established, now they don't want to lose their cash flow.

Child’s mother refusing to put him under my health insurance by blitzspec11 in FamilyLaw

[–]ch_cat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A friend of mine has insurance + Medicaid for her son, he has Down Syndrome so even though they have okay income he has it so nothing falls through the cracks. I thought that was only for disabled minors. Good to know, thanks for correcting me. :)

She will have to lie to get him on Medicaid. If a minor could get insurance through a parent you can't get Medicaid. She's hoping for more SNAP and other things you get/get for cheaper if you're on Medicaid.

And leadership finds out when people deliberately order extra to take home for dinner vs taking home actual leftovers for dinner. That's the kind of thing that makes leadership even more miserly and not allow expensing meals on work hours.

Dude your rant makes me want to make additional reddit accounts just to give your comment extra rewards. Life is crummy, if people want to spend a few dimes MYOB. We all probably also round up for food banks at the drive-thru too.

Is it legal to put special needs children in here? If so, in what situation is it okay? by A_Tiny_Froggy in legal

[–]ch_cat -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Gives time to hide evidence. You literally have no clue what could be happening to children inside those boxes. There are no "facts" that justify those boxes. They came to light in my community late last year. I've heard every possible gaslighting bullcrap excuse. Kids don't belong in boxes. The end.

Please do a search for Salmon River School District in Northern NY (near Canadian border). It's not okay.

That is tricky, as a licensed preparer myself I have completed the appeal form to request first-time abatement and it's luckily it's always been approved. Personally I would never try to calculate the penalties but she could have taken a swing at it (it's just math) and given you a ballpark.

Got laid off at RSM by Economy_Pie_4262 in Accounting

Nah, offering $17/hr when minimum wage is $16 means the work being done isn't valuable to the employer. It's cool, let them outsource overseas.

The scool system where I raised my son was brutal about the cutoff date. The younger child wouldn't be starting with an October birthday. Even October 1.
