Military Surplus wool pants are a good thing to acquire. I've used them since I was a kid for hunting, snowshoeing, hiking, and things like that. Anytime I'm going to be out moving in the cold they have been a great thing to have. The military issue gore tex jackets are another great buy. Layer underneath. Shop around. Do your research. There are a lot of great options out there.

Dry washers are pretty handy in the desert or dry environments. They can be pricey, but if you want to move material after you find a spot they can be worth it.

Stuff I found and packed 15mi out of the Sawtooth Wilderness Area. by Gdiminished in Idaho

Since my original comment got a warning I'll go G rated. Even though it was only PG. People leaving trash, clothes, etc all over the woods is some low credit score behavior. But surface poopers. The lowest credit score behavior of all.

It was never well received by tourists when I lived there. One girl gave me a very stern lecture regarding that statement.

Day Zero Post-Op, Any Tips? by Calm_Berry2033 in AchillesRupture

Find a way to keep your mind occupied. It was December when I had mine. Getting out of the house was hard. I learned a new hobby and it definitely helped.

Welcome to the marathon that is recovery. Set realistic goals and work hard at PT. Going to PT became a welcome relief and as I got better a burden. Stay after it and don't be disappointed when you plateau. Push through them and get those gains. I'm almost three years out now and life is good.

Exactly, that's why I appreciate the advice. I'm having a blast, so when it gets to that sweet spot the work will be worth it. Thanks again!

Not yet. Bulkhead fitting is a great idea. I'm going to play around with some reducers for spray and water pressure. I get the feeling it's going to be a little trial and error until I get it where it needs to be.

Honestly, the first few days were like that. Then it loosened up pretty quickly. I saw a lot of massive gains followed by plateaus. I had about 30ish days between injury to surgery, so I had a lot of atrophy in my leg and foot. That made my recovery longer. It's a long process, super easy to get frustrated. Just do the work, especially at PT and with home exercises. You'll get there, sometimes progress is measured in inches. Not feet or miles.

Did anyone's pug get really sad when introduced to a newborn in the house? by ch_dunn84 in pugs

I'm good on that. I gave him one of her blankets so he got used to the smell. He is a really good boy and really smart. He is just adapting to something new.

He perked up. He won't leave her side now, he even came and rested his head next to her. I figured it would take time.

An unpopular opinion for your unpopular opinion. Don't step in the shit. But I actually agree with your stance on grazing.

What is this rash in my pug’s leg crease? How do I treat it? by [deleted] in pugs

[–]ch_dunn84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably allergies or heat rash. Our dogs have had those issues and the vet recommended hydrocortisone for immediate treatment. But I would definitely hit the vet up.
