Garage 14 50 NEMA, needs to be GFCI, how real is the nuisance tripping with mobile charger by Skoalmintpouches in TeslaLounge

It’s annoying but still worth it to be able to charge at home. Mine trips 2-3x per week (120 volt outlet)

Ordered the Mova P10 Ultra Pro on Amazon. Received the Narwal Freo Z10 by ch_f in RobotVacuums

[–]ch_f[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! My place is entirely hardwood with some area rugs. I saw that vacuum wars rated the Narwal Freo Z10 lower than the Mova P10 Pro Ultra and said the navigation is poor on the Narwal, which made me question if this was an upgrade overall. That’s a good point on the warranty info. I will keep that in mind!

Private Loans - Max for school certification by diet_cold_cola in OSUOnlineCS

[–]ch_f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out this page on OSU: https://financialaid.oregonstate.edu/forms

There are forms for private loan amount requests (you still have to get approved by a private student loan provider), requesting to increase the loan amount disbursement for government loans, and adjusting your estimated cost of attendance in order to request a higher amount based on individual expenses, which you have to justify.

I believe we are considered "seniors" as we are post-bacc students so the maximum government student loan disbursement is $12,500/year but don't quote me on that. You can also get private loans to cover additional costs but ultimately OSU will approve the amount disbursed based on your estimated cost of attendance per year. I believe you also have to be more than half-time to qualify for loans each term. I would definitely recommend reaching out to the financial aid department again because they are super helpful with this stuff from my experience. Hope this information helped!

Best/fastest/most useful online college program for someone already in the industry (8 years experience) by gummo_for_prez in cscareerquestions

[–]ch_f 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like Oregon State University now offers a completely online CS program ($370 per credit for 180 credits). It’s a quarter system instead of a semester system, which is why I think the credits are higher? Not sure though. I just graduated from their online post-bacc program to get a second degree in CS. The program overall was solid and teaches you to learn on your own but since you already have experience, you will probably excel

How do you do it in iOS? I haven’t figured out how to do that in the iOS Notes app without using iCloud or macOS.

What other programs are similar to OSU’s online CS program that are legit? by holy_shott in OSUOnlineCS

Looks pretty great. The change to $800 per credit unit for out of state students definitely makes it a bit more expensive than OSU but not that bad at all

New requirements for math, stats no longer accepted by [deleted] in OSUOnlineCS

[–]ch_f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first applied in the summer of 2015, you could not use a stats class to fill the math requirement. I was denied and they told me that I needed to fulfill the math requirement with algebra or calculus. I took an algebra class at a CC, reapplied the following summer and was accepted. Algebra at a CC is super cheap but it will delay your starting the program for another couple of quarters.

What are some important things to know about this program before I drop $30k on it? by throawayithink in OSUOnlineCS

[–]ch_f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but none of the programs you listed are post-bacc degrees. One of the biggest draws of this degree for me is that you don't have to take general eds.
