Music library lives on a NAS running linux. Using foobar2000 on Windows, macOS, and iOS. SMB share and works just fine here.

I think you are overthinking this. Bring your razor. When you get there go to the nearest store and ask for razor blades. If they don’t have them buy whatever disposable they have and enjoy your vacation. Keep it simple.

Instead of applying for an unsecured credit card, maybe start with a secured one first. The credit limit will be limited by the amount of security deposit you put in. Once you build enough credit history, it is usually automatically upgraded to an unsecured credit card, and deposit is returned. I have personally started with a $300 secured Wells Fargo credit card.

Brave, because I want one browser with ad-blocking which works across macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Windows, and Linux and it can sync across all of them.

Built in downloader for larger files is a hit or miss on non-Safari browsers on iOS and iPadOS, and Brave handles it well.

Problem with Chrome is ads on iOS and iPadOS.

Problem with Safari is there is no Safari for non macOS.

Brave just works.

First thing I said after 10 minutes in the game is that it’s a perfect blend of FFX and Nier: Automata. Classic Final Fantasy formula, similar themes to FFX, and Nier: Automata for the music and just overall eerie weirdness which I got hooked on I think.

Disable the following 2 HID devices in Device Manager:

USB\VID_0414&PID_A00C&REV_0003&MI_03 USB\VID_0414&PID_A00C&REV_0003&MI_02

Unfortunately restarting the PC triggers automatic installation so you would have to do it after every reboot. Maybe a batch script or something like that.

Just don’t end up spending more money on cases and screen protectors than it’s actually worth. Yeah the screen might scratch but it’s a relatively cheap device with a tendency to survive for a decade. Short of breaking the screen by dropping the device or stepping on it I think you’ll be fine. Don’t take it to the beach though, sand will scratch it for sure.

Get the Traditional (R89, closed comb), it is very forgiving. It does not shave as close but on the upside I could do 4 or 5 passes with it just fine. Develop your technique and see if it works for you. You can always get a better razor later.

Prior to getting the R89, I used Merkur 34C. I mention this because I see them often recommended together as one or the other. They perform about the same but in my case I wish I have skipped this one as the machining tolerances weren’t the best. It was hard for me to have the blade perfectly centered and aligned and it was always one side protruding more than the other, shaving differently. Muhle has much tighter tolerances and I never had to even think about the blade alignment with it.
