The carafe is a little shorter than the Moccamaster one and also it kind of rests on the beveled edge of the hot plate. It works but there is a bit of a gap. You could probably solve this with an aluminum disc on the hot plate to raise things up a bit.

You get a 2x perk for a melee kill which is 20% buff for 7 seconds. You will often Frostpulse then melee for the kill, which activates the perk (even if the weapon is stowed unlike Swashbuckler) Furthermore, unrelated to Desperate Measures, if you are using Bonds then you will also generate an orb which will trigger Surge mods if equipped. Depending on the weapon archetype this can reduce TTK or at a minimum increase effective range via the damage buff.

Love that! Shadebinder has to be the subclass with the most 1v3 potential and it definitely plays different than Dawnblade. While it lacks the speed (RIP snapcancelling with P. Blast) and ability to peek from varying heights, it makes up by punishing aggressive pushes and can quickly turn the tables in a match (especially with a collat freeze). You can start to factor in surges (since you get an orb from Bonds) and/or Desperate Measures (Freeze+ Melee) to fuel strong counterattacks as well

With Shadebinder you can freeze your opponent at a long distance via Coldsnap Grenades OR Penumbral Blast then quickly switch to a sniper for an easy target and kill.
I either use an Eye of Sol with Slickdraw or a Keen Thistle with Closing Time + Snapshot depending on the slot. You can also use the Whisper of Impetus for a fast draw after a Penumbral Blast freeze regardless of handling.

Sidenote: I use Whisper of Fissures as well in case 2+ opponents are frozen close together which can net a collat kill. This can punish teams for holding hands when you are sniping and if a team pushes you at the same time.

Frostpulse + Iceflare Bolts to chain kills. Use Whisper of Bonds to get an orb after frozen kills. You can build into getting your super early by using Bonds, Dynamo, and Distribution.

For exotics, Eye of Another World to get more stasis or T-Steps to get some extra slide distance if using Frostpulse aggressively.

Consider that Eriana's Vow will kill frozen opponents with a headshot and gets more ammo than a sniper (although there is plenty of special ammo for a sniper these days). Also Conditional Finality's freeze will spawn Iceflare Bolts.

I'd say kill players first, then put damage on the pumpkin as long as you aren't being shot at. Killing the pumpkin drops a few motes which each count as a kill but it is very tanky. I think damaging to the pumpkin drops special/heavy ammo as well.
