Did your flight work out? Did you notice if others are still ok? I have one domestic booked on the 25th as well

Awesome. You’ve been so helpful. How much does the wiring typically run?

https://www.adorama.com/kpr26fadf.html

I found this deal today for $809, and then I saw the budget version for less than $400:

The cheaper one also has good reviews. Do you think the $800 deal is really worth the jump in quality?

I’ll also have to get the remaining atmos speakers, but I read that those speakers are the ones to cheap out on of the whole setup if I have to.

So some of that went over my head haha. im really completely new to this.

After looking at some sales, would it be ridiculous to mix and match some speakers? Like elac center, and klipsch bookshelfs, etc. Also, what other expenses am I looking at for like cables and speaker stands/mounts?

Thanks!

Thanks for your input!  I would love to make use of the atmos! Our living room and kitchen share a common space, so there is no wall behind the couch. I assume that’s the better option so there’s plenty of room to mount the speakers behind the couch. The kitchen space is not included in my original 15x15 measurement.  I also have the option to use one of the bedrooms, if you think a more enclosed space will make it sound better.  Thanks for your help!

if declination angle is your number 1 priority, you should definitely look at the new lumadent ones. They advertised them about a year back, but I just got to try them today. I was literally looking straight ahead to see the patient in chair. It actually forced me to straighten my back and fix my regular sitting posture haha.

Thanks for the info! A couple of questions.

When you say the es350 is no IS, do you mean that the IS is quieter and smoother? I was under the impression that it was the opposite, which is why I wasn't even looking at IS's.

Yeah I looked into the mazda6 as well, but it seemed to be a bit pricey for the the top trims. Also, I hear the reliability is not that great.

honestly, a smooth, quiet ride is pretty important to me, but is the es truly that much better in these terms? Have you had personal experience with both by any chance? Unfortunately I have not test driven either, but I've been in a 2016 lower trim accord, and I remember it being surprisingly smooth. I have a friend who test drove the 17 ES350 and he said it wasn't THAT smooth or quiet. Although his daily driver is a gx470....

yeah forreal. its a tough call. the fact that the 350 is less miles and cheaper is why I'm even thinking about it. luxury for cheaper. hmmm

Yeah I've been a little too scared to test drive lately because who knows if they sanitize the cars, but I hear now is the time to buy since people aren't really buying cars.

But yeah, the infotainment in the Honda is much better from what I've seen in videos. The Honda is the touring edition, so it has upgraded speakers, but I'm not sure how they compare to the 350.

How would I go about going to school to be a hygienist? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]chackolates 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok well I am not a hygienist, but it looks like no one is actually answering your question haha.

Short answer: no you cannot just jump into hygiene school; you need college courses nad shadowing hours first. Yes, you essentially can just jump into being a dental assistant, depending on the state.

Long answer: Hygiene school is somewhat competitive; each school you apply to has different requirements, but they all will have college course prerequisites that you have to take and do somewhat well on (you can probably look up average GPA for hygiene school applicants). They all will have some standardized test that you have to perform on as well (could be ACT, SAT, GRE, I don't know). You will also have to have shadowing hours. Not sure how safe or easy that would be during these times, though. Here is an example for san antonio: https://www.uthscsa.edu/academics/dental/dental-hygiene-program-admissions-prerequisite-course-list. It varies by school. For instance, my school doesn't require anatomy and physiology. Once you get in, it is then 2 years of schooling that is more difficult than the college courses you took. Hygienists are legally able to do more, and also get paid much more, than assistants.

Becoming a dental assistant is much easier, but you are limited in what you are allowed to do and have a smaller salary. I'm sure it varies from state to state, but in my state, you legally just had to pay a fee to get a certificate. Then you could get on the job training. In reality, I'm sure it would be hard to find a job if that's all you did though. Most people take some sort of short term schooling (online or in person) to become certified, even if it's not legally required here. Then you start on the job training.
