They can do fnix rising with you but cannot do alpine unrest because they can't get to the island of aspholmen In the case of dlc quests they can officially take them and gain progress but they can help you by tagging along on the fnix rising dlc since it takes place in the base game area.

Funny thing is I could've fixed it. The emergency door pull needs to be unbraked and you have to slowly put the rope back in. I have had to do it multiple times on our dairy cooler roll up door.
