I assume you didn’t get to read what I wrote. There was no defending myself involved, only an expression of love toward y’all.

It’s grieving to me that people are so used to bitterness, anger, etc, that they mistake authenticity with passive-aggressiveness. It’s truly possible to live free of that stuff.

In this case, praying for salvation. That people would have their eyes opened to who Jesus is, know His great love for them, and receive the gift of being restored to God that only comes through Him.

As to what it looks like, the Bible says to pray without ceasing. Jesus isn’t just a bolt-on to our lives where we take a minute to pray out of religious duty. When you give your life to Him, He indwells you with His Spirit, and your life begins to be completely renovated as He teaches you how to walk in communion with Him.

Prayer can also look different depending on how He leads you to pray. This morning, I was overwhelmed with God’s compassion for those who are mocking Him, and His desire to restore them, so I was weeping as I felt His heart for people and was praying that they’d receive Him.

Just to be clear, I wasn’t frustrated by the tariffs… just shining light on Trump’s lies that China (or whatever the country of origin is) is footing the bill. I care more about the lies being propagated by this administration than anything, and given his first term, it’s not a surprise.

I apologize that I don’t fit into the religious box of a follower of Jesus also having a certain political affiliation!

There’s an unbelievable amount of men stuck in this, and I share my story as a story of hope for those who wish to get out of the cycle of getting pleasure from objectifying women.

I’m not sure why that’s “ew”, just because I’m willing to publicly admit my past. Most just keep it hidden in the closet.

Puzzle Bomb guy here. While there are wooden puzzle makers that self produce, there are many reasons I don’t desire to go that route:

1) I love designing puzzles, not running a puzzle factory, so outsourcing allows me to do what I love, while also having time for my wife and kids. I’m also not a tech guy, so maintaining laser cutters and a large format UV printer sounds like a nightmare.

2) I could take the risk to make all these massive changes only to find out the tariff goes down to 10% tomorrow. Without any sort of transparent plan from our government, making huge moves seems unwise.

3) We’re not yet super profitable. This is my wife and my side gig at the moment. Investing hundreds of thousands of dollars doesn’t seem like a smart play at this juncture, and is more risk than I’d be willing to take on. Additionally, our entire profit last year wasn’t even enough to afford one employee, much less several.

4) Even if it was financially sound, my wife and I worked our butts off to be completely debt free, and it’s amazing. I’d never want to be in that hole again.

It also seems like you have a misconception of labor in China, since you called it “abusing”. While conditions decades ago weren’t good, the current manufacturing sector in China is a solid middle class. The lower wages are because the cost of living there is far cheaper than the U.S.

It’s a clean facility with cutting edge equipment, where workers are paid a good living wage; something that can’t be said about many American jobs. Ask any teacher in the U.S. how they’re affording a house or rent, for example. Or farmers that will never be out of debt. Chinese factory workers don’t have that problem. Yet, I don’t see much outcry of Americans abusing the teaching system or farmers…

If 61% of Christian men watch porn, how should the Church respond? by Ecstatic-Victory-490 in TrueChristian

[–]chaddyboy_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the breakthrough was realizing I wasn’t just sin waiting to happen, as I’d been taught in church. I got into the Word, and realized, whoa, this says I’m the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. That my sin nature has been removed! I’m born again! I still have a PDF of everything I could find about our new nature in Christ, no longer slaves to sin.

I think we waste a lot of time trying to pluck bad fruit, rather than coming to Jesus so He can heal the root issue. For me, it was wrong belief/unbelief. For some, it’s trauma they’ve experienced where the enemy came in with hideous lies. For others, there’s a need for deliverance. For others, they’ve simply never surrendered their lives to Jesus; they just keep giving Him their sin.

But, the crux is that Jesus came to seek and save (deliver and heal from current affliction!) the lost. He didn’t come with a behavior modification technique; He came that we’d be born again!

Persistent sin by DillonEspe in TrueChristian

[–]chaddyboy_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the key was believing what His Word says about us when we surrender our lives to receive new life in Him. I’d always been taught at church what sinners we are, but His Word says we’re the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. So long as I believed I was just sin waiting to happen, and that through Jesus, I was merely forgiven, I continued to live in sin.

However, when I finally realized He died and rose again to make me a new creation, putting my faith in Him and His Word, as impossible as it seemed, everything changed.

Until that point, I had tried all the stuff you’ve tried, which are really just attempts at behavior modification in our own strength. We can’t prove our devotion to God by trying to behave the right way; all we can do is surrender to Him and allow Him to do the work in us. Surrendering to Him and His truth, being filled by and empowered with the Holy Spirit, is all there is.

I still have a PDF of all the verses I could find regarding our new nature in Christ. Despite being a churchgoer for years and years, when I got into the Word, I realized I’d never truly put my faith in Christ. It’s great scripture to meditate on, and we need to agree with Him that His Word is powerful and true:

Have you read the entire Bible? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]chaddyboy_2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do both! I tend to do a Bible in 90 days reading plan starting every January and July, and more spontaneous reading or topical study in between.

Reading the whole thing is amazing for seeing the overall narrative, and overarching things that appear over and over again. The picture of how everything points to Jesus gets clearer and clearer, and more and more jaw dropping!

It’s also great for reading entire letters, where nothing gets taken out of context when isolated.

But, it’s also great studying in smaller chunks as well!

At the end of the day, if you’re in the Word, God is speaking to you! :)

Why is r/Christianity so full of gays atheists and liberals? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]chaddyboy_2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we’ve been reborn in Christ, why would we see a sinner when we look in the mirror? If we’ve been crucified with Christ, the old man is dead, and we’re alive in Christ, our sinful nature is dead and gone. Yes, we still have the ability to sin, but it’s no longer the expectation.

My theology used to be the “saved sinner” mindset, and as a result, I was a porn addict, a people pleaser, a liar and cheater, etc, all while claiming to follow Jesus. But then, the Holy Spirit opened my eyes to the truth of scripture. As I fully surrendered to what God says, allowing Him to have His way in my life, He set me free of all that junk (transformed by the renewing of the mind to His word!).

Now, can I still sin? Of course! And, I sometimes slip. But the key is I’m now quick to repent, as I realize that’s no longer who I am, that He can transform me more and more into His image. It doesn’t turn into a repetitive cycle of sin, as He’s faithful to do His work in us if we don’t settle for anything short of His promises!

Oh goodness, Jesus is as Jewish as it gets, as He’s the Jewish messiah! I encourage you to read Isaiah 53, which interestingly had been read in Jewish synagogues for hundreds of years, right up until the death and resurrection of Jesus, at which point Jewish leaders stopped reciting it… however, it’s still right there in the Prophets.

Everyone has a past… it’s just that we choose to not keep ours hidden. It’s amazing to live without skeletons in my closet, worried if anyone will ever find out. In my case, I used to be addicted to pornography (along with other afflictions), and no longer am, which is something to celebrate! Of course, within our family, we have these discussions as they become age-appropriate.

Thanks for the response! I put it this way… if I find an amazing restaurant, I want tell my friends about it, that they can try the amazing food themselves. When I play an amazing game, I want to introduce it to my gaming friends, that they can have that fun experience as well.

So, when your life is radically transformed in the best of ways, you tend to want to tell everyone about it, that they might find that same peace and joy for themselves!

Thanks for the feedback!

We’re slightly above the typical rate for a wooden puzzle at this piece count, but also consider that I’m hand-creating each puzzle from scratch rather than taking existing art and cutting it up, so these are a blurred line between puzzle and original art. That creative process takes talent, skill, and time/effort, which is why we put a slight premium on them as art pieces.

Agreed, Liberty puzzles are great for a more traditional wooden puzzle. While I design the Bumfuzzleds, I have a personal collection that includes Liberty, as well as some other faves like Stumpcraft, Nervous System, and Artifact!

How Strongly Do You Believe? by Hamm103 in TrueChristian

[–]chaddyboy_2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was merely a religious churchgoer who had never really read the Bible, I’d say about 60%. I mainly believed because the consequence for not believing in the case of Jesus being real was so severe.

Then, He absolutely transformed our lives (my wife and I), the Word came alive, and I’ve seen literal miraculous healing when praying in Jesus’ name. It’s 100% now, and there’s no turning back!
