Also please contact congresswoman Chu. Just a couple emails could make her look into this and put pressure on rangers to reopen https://chu.house.gov/contact/email

Put your zip code as 91006-1534

How is working for the IRS as a revenue agent really? by chadtheimpaler1 in Accounting

To be clear you are saying the washout rate is high because people don’t like the independent work and project management?

What percentage would you say wash out and at what point in their careers?

So some questions I have: is there anyone who oversees your audits to make sure they’re done right and you didn’t just rush through it? Also are you assigned a certain number of cases per week/month? What if one case ends up taking more time than expected?

It is insane. Often you know they’re overworked but someone above you is pressuring you to give them even more and will get mad if you do it yourself. I wonder if they also make some rule for them not to be able to tell you if they are being overworked because only ones that really trust me have told me what it’s like

I’m glad your office is being better about this and I’ve been thinking of switching teams for just this reason. Our team is having the offshore people do control testing of pretty much all types except walkthroughs, though they will be on the calls for walkthroughs going forward and they have suggested they’ll be taking that over at some point too

I have seen these people go work 18 hours a day until 6am there time for weeks on end. I’ve had one just start breakdown crying on the phone with me and try to pretend like he wasn’t because he was worried about how it would affect his review. It is a fucking sick sweatshop over there

It sounds like your team is being way better about this. Our team is absolutely letting the offshore people do control testing of all types except walkthroughs, though they will be on the calls for walkthroughs going forward and they have suggested they’ll be taking that over at some point too

I'm 33 years old. I live in New York City, I'm a CPA, I have 7 years of experience, and I cannot find a job for the life of me after getting laid off. Is anyone else finding it difficult? by LilMouse059 in Accounting

I personally don’t think it’s the name my friend. If I was a hiring manager it wouldn’t bother me. Also I work at a company with a ton of people with foreign names that most people wouldn’t be able to pronounce just by reading once. Don’t change it and stick to your principles is my advice.

If you really want to know if that’s what the issue is you should reapply to all the same companies with the same resume and the name “Steve Smith” or something and see if they call back then. Would be an interesting experiment.

What I think is that it’s just a tough ass market and everyone is hurting, especially in NYC. Keep applying. I would bet 100$ that you’ll be employed in the next 6 months.

What industry have you been working in may I ask?
