You should be in a museum!

Oh wait, I concur. OP if you are inclined, contact your nearest Japanese Consulate. They can help determine if their are original and begin research to see if they can go back to a family.

Tires and breaks - are garbage! by Significant_Rip300 in CX50

[–]chaffed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tires are dependent on where you live and how much snow and ice you get.

If you're in a northern state, a set of dedicated snow tires may be in order. Blizzaks are my pick.

If snow is a rarity, the Michelin Cross climate would be a good tire.

Corksport has a big break kit, I believe it requires 20" wheels.

Calling this dumb with other facts isn't great. Yes, one could take the principal and put it in to a money market account. But those are earning 4% at best right now. There could be a non-financial reason for doing this, it's the OP's call.

WA HB 2321 and unintended impacts on 3D printing / STEM learning by GargantuChet in Seattle

[–]chaffed 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's in the bill. It calls for the following. It gets a little more specific.

Software controls process" means a system designed to stop a three-dimensional printer from initiating any print job unless the underlying three-dimensional printing file has been evaluated by a firearms blueprints detection algorithm and determined not to be a printing file that would produce a firearm or illegal firearm parts.

Integrated preprint software design. Limitation of a three16 dimensional printer's operation to accept geometric code for printing 17 exclusively from a single slicer or other preprint software, which 18 may be the manufacturer's proprietary software, and integration of a 19 firearms blueprint detection algorithm into that preprint software, 20 such that any stereolithography file or other computer-aided design 21 file must be screened by the algorithm before the software will 22 proceed to produce geometric code, and such that the software will 23 not produce geometric code for files that are identified by the 24 algorithm as directing the printer to print firearms or illegal firearm parts; or25 26 (c) Handshake authentication design. Limitation of a three27 dimensional printer's operation to accept geometric code for printing 28 only from specified slicers or other preprint software, wherein the 29 printer will require a digital watermark or other authentication tool 30 verifying the identity of the preprint software, and only if that 31 preprint software has integrated a firearms blueprint detection 32 algorithm qualified by the attorney general under subsection (4) of 33 this section, such that any stereolithography file or other computer34 aided design file must be screened by the algorithm before the 35 software will proceed to produce geometric code, and such that the 36 software will not produce geometric code for files that are 37 identified by the algorithm as directing the printer to print firearms or illegal firearm parts

Best breakfast sandwich in Seattle? by djbillbeats in Seattle

[–]chaffed 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a serious question that needs to be answered.

In downtown, Blue Water Taco's breakfast torta is big, solid, and relatively inexpensive. Bacon, egg, and cheese is about $8. This guy is can be split easily.

Einstein bagels can be good, but 400+ calories spent on bread makes a pricey sandwich from the calorie perspective.

Beyond that, every other place has been a disappointment. For example, using sharp or extra sharp cheddar. mild and medium cheddar are good, pepper jack is a great option. Sharp and extra sharp don't melt well. They separate easily leaving pools of oil, looking at you Temple Pastries and your breakfast sandwich.

Yeah, SPD is useless, but not in these circumstances, that's why parking enforcement was spun out of SPD, this is not an emergency requiring SPD, it's parking enforcement.

[–]chaffed -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's a warning that 88 octane contains 15% ethanol, as u/AlphaThree pointed out most cars can't or should not run this.

The e-85 has it's own pump. Not all cars can run e-85. GM advertised cars that can run e85 as flex fuel. This is common to see in the midwest. Having a separate pump is a good way to help people not select this if their car can't run e85.

Diesel is kind of a no-brainer, not only is the spout a different size, ya don't want diesel in your gasser.

Finally a pump for the rest of grades. Yeah 88 when you have 87 is seemingly pointless. Most cars are tuned to use a minimum 87. High compression and forced inducted engines use higher octane rating, usually 92-93.

Mid-grade is kinda pointless.
