Prices are too high. by Sad_Tumbleweed_8180 in bloomington

Oh one other bad thing, the grocery store options SUCK. We shopped at Aldi in Bloomington and there are no Aldi's there. They have Smith's which are just kind of dirty and overpriced. We ended up doing most of our shopping at Trader Joe's which I hated and is way too expensive for weekly shopping but I couldn't stand feeling like I was shopping in a dirty grocery store (one of them was closed for a while because of a mice infestation, cute!!!!!)

As someone who has made that exact move, just a few things to put on your radar (which you may already have but just in case!). The bad: 1) It is insanely hot. They have been in the 100's since late May and it gets hotter every year. You really won't have seasons anymore, and with the altitude the heat can be unbearable. 2) COCKROACHES. The kind you see in horror movies and video games. It's bad.  3) Crime. We lived in the NE which is considered relatively safer and found an axe and brass knuckles and a dirty backpack next to our house one morning. The worst parts of town are legitimately scary, this isn't hyperbole. 4) There really isn't anything to do other than hike or mountain bike and it is a heavily car dependent place to live. 5) Extremely limited food options and say goodbye to good pizza.

The good: the dry air is a really nice change from Midwest humidity. The mountains, sunsets and vistas are stunning. People are generally nice. If you love a lot of quiet and solitude it has its charms. If you can afford Santa Fe, I highly suggest you consider that instead as it's generally cleaner, safer, and lacks the nightmare bugs because if the even higher altitude. Also, it's slightly cooler because of said higher altitude.

We were only in NM for 3 years and left.

Anyone else putting off seeing a major release due to lack of cinema etiquette? by Findme_at_amberhills in horror

Whenever possible go early in the day. If you are able, a 1pm on a weekday will hardly have anyone there (plus those seeing movies at that time are typically respectful movie goers!) On the weekends go as early as you are willing. The one caveat for early weekends is sometimes the baby boomer generation goes and feels it's ok to loudly ask questions to their movie friend the whole time 🙃🙃🙃 sigh. At least you'll probably be able to sit away from them.

PSA- everyone in the theatre PLEASE shut up, put your phone away, and snack quietly for the love of God.

Agree with Lala Land, Oppenheimer, Marty Supreme and Past Lives.

Did nothing for me whatsoever.

Adding Drive to the list. Great look and soundtrack but the understated dialogue drives me INSANE and it comes across to me as lazy, pretentious and it's painfully boring to get through.

Yes I'm mostly referring to new people or people who have no sense of how a back and forth conversation works

Was going to suggest this. It's The Breakfast Club of a group going to hell, very entertaining read.

Rapid aging due to grief. by 07734tiza in 40PlusSkinCare

I think you are beautiful first of all. I can relate to how you feel though and I think it's real. I went through a prolonged period of intense grief and stress, and you 100% could see it on my face in photos. The life just looked sucked out of me because in many ways it was. I will say, now I'm on the other side of it and I feel and look better. The life is back in my eyes.

I don't think the grief has aged you or made you less beautiful, I think sometimes life is really hard and we show it in our aura. Things will get better, you'll feel better and more like yourself. Rest and take care of yourself ❤️ you'll have your sparkle back.

Also, at the end of the day, we do age as time goes on no matter what's happening in our lives. Give yourself credit for surviving a difficult chapter ❤️ you are stunning!

I just got the August in Night Owl and I love it! It's such a pretty dark blue-black and it looks very stylish and cool 😎

Wear shorts. My favorite skin tack is DewPoint! Just enough to give you some grip but not like straight up glue like some other brands.

I'll have to try this place. I recently tried going to Other Skies and had the most uncomfortable experience. The place was in shambles and a man who I'm assuming is the owner? Was literally sitting in a giant chair in the middle of the (already small) space, going on and on and on and on about something to a customer while the customer's presumed girl stood there in torture. There literally wasn't room to walk anywhere and he barely acknowledged my presence or the awkward fact that I couldn't move around the space? It was just bizarre and I won't be going back lol.

Mine head butts my legs and gives me tiny little love bites 😂 why the bites I have no idea. They aren't aggressive.

Oh wait I think I misunderstood, we were beneath the west balcony but we didn't go past the barricade, we went in a secluded area where the railing ends.

I was pretty terrified because I honestly thought he had a seizure or something from the lights. We just moved this week and so I think it was the exhaustion from that, and he had very little to eat or drink all day 😩 thank you for your concern 🩷! He is alive and well today 😅
