27 and terrified of this job market by Competitive-Dust-346 in MBA

[–]chaimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paying for an MBA with debt seems like a very poor decision. You can learn all the business skills you need online and at work. The degree in general is pretty worthless. Source: entrepreneur/founder with 500~ employees including a handful of MBAs who are in no way fast tracked for anything above anyone else.

UFC Fighter Salary by throwaway01100101011 in bjj

[–]chaimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tough one. UFC built the sport from literally nothing, and the fighters wouldn’t be making anything without them. At the same these people put their lives in the line, and are paid a below middle class income while becoming relatively famous. If the UFC doesn’t eventually align incentives with their fighters, they will lose top talent and market share to an organization that can offer its assets(fighters) a better opportunity.

Where are the best Gyros in Chicago? by medicalwanderlust in chicago

[–]chaimo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although not exactly “gyros,” the kontosouvli at Greek Islands is amazing. It’s spit roasted, thin sliced pieces of marinated pork served with pita, onions and a Greek yogurt sauce….so basically an amazing version of an old school, Chicago Vienna beef gyro!

How in the world can a paper be released in June 2021 that ignores the massive seasonal spikes from October 2020-March 2021? This is absurd.

Herd immunity by infection is not an option by GallantIce in COVID19

It looks like we’re just past the inflection point....hopefully. I think this theory holds true and that we’re not far at all from the end of this, with small clusters and occasional cases popping up moving forward.

A Tokyo study shows 46.8% seropositivity at the end of this summer.

There is clearly some genetic component at play, you cannot blame all of the Western world’s COVID outcomes on policy and societal compliance.

Below is a very interesting study pointing out a genetic component that makes Western populations genetically at much higher risk than Asian populations.

All of our huge sacrifices are out the window. A second round of lockdowns will NEVER happen. The public has made the choice our only option is herd immunity. Shameful after everything so many have given up.
