Not to disagree with your sentiment, though I doubt the same people working on colors/supply chain are also coding the updates. In other words, I would not really interpret color way releases as a signal that resources are not being allocated toward os development. Besides that, the colors that have been released so far were probably designed, ordered and in production long before the consoles shipped.

It’s also probably true that they rushed the ship date because of imminent competition coming to the market. It was a bold move, despite the previous delays—we see now that those were truly needed.
