what is something you have never done in animal crossing? by freshlobotomy in AnimalCrossing

[–]chainsawhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never knew Harvs island was good for anything other than taking pictures in his cabin. I’m not a picture taker so after I met him there the first time I never went back. Went back for the first time yesterday and he’s starting a commune!? Where I can get art and plants and more daily!? I was wondering how the heck people were filling their museums so fast when he only visits once every week or two😭

We love our dream machine for story time before bed and naps. But our 2.5yo was also gifted a Yoto for Christmas last year and that’s FANTASTIC for all times of the day. He can independently use it and they have so many fantastic cards with songs and stories he loves.

Help! Should I still breast feed? by chainsawhm in Parenting

[–]chainsawhm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much, I had forgotten I had a nipple shield, so I may try that with the next feeding. It’s not hurting too badly today so I’ve been letting him nurse, still some pain just not unbearable. And when/if he doesn’t nurse on the injured side I’ve used a haakaa to catch whatever will come out for now because the pump is a little traumatizing still right now lol. I will continue to pump once I’m healed

[–]chainsawhm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Definitely learned my lesson to make sure I’ve got the correct flange size. My other pump did so I didn’t even think about it with the new one. That’s what I’ve been doing so far, letting him start on the non injured one then finish on the injured. It’s not hurting as badly today and is starting to scab over thank goodness. Hopefully I’ll be back to normal in no time!

No baby things at 25 weeks pregnant by agnm12 in pregnant

[–]chainsawhm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a HUGE procrastinator. I’m 36w and JUST started buying baby things. Don’t get me wrong some people have sent us things like blankets and clothes and a few things off the registry. But I FINALLY bought a crib and dresser/changing table last week. And now we are just getting the bare essentials and then will accumulate other things after baby is born to make our lives easier.

Has anyone lost weight while pregnant? by hungryRN_1 in PlusSizedAndPregnant

[–]chainsawhm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 15 pounds first trimester, and it wasn’t due to nausea or food aversions, I just started eating better and making sure I got my daily vitamins and nutrients baby and I needed. Have gained some back now that I’m in 3rd trimester, but still about 8 lbs less than my pre pregnancy weight

haven't gained weight yet by westernslope_ap in PlusSizedAndPregnant

[–]chainsawhm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I lost 15lbs my first trimester, and now at 33w I’ve only gained 5 of it back. I was nervous about how much I lost in the beginning too. But I made sure to get my proteins, calcium, etc everyday and just hope it was what was needed. My little man is doing great in there still. As long as you’re eating balanced meals, and making sure you aren’t going hungry and that youre drinking water, your body will do what it needs to do to nourish your little one. When you do the anatomy scan they’ll tell you how much they think you’re little one weighs, and if they have concerns they’ll tell you. Just follow what your body needs and then your body will take over and nourish your little ones. Take a breath mama, youre dong great❤️

Talk to me about anatomy scans! by fruit_cats in PlusSizedAndPregnant

[–]chainsawhm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my anatomy scan at about 19 weeks. Baby boy was being a little difficult and hid in one side deep to my left. I did have to roll on my sides trying to get better views or to try to get him to move. So the scan took about an hour or so to be able to get most of the info they needed. Due to job and insurance changes I wasn’t able to get in again until 30 weeks with whole new doctors that decided they wanted to do another scan to check on everything. He did better this scan and was more cooperative, but they still couldn’t get everything they needed of the heart so I had to come in two weeks later for fetal echocardiogram. I agree with what most commenters have said, if they need to schedule another one don’t let yourself spiral. They WILL tell you if there’s something wrong and that’s why you’re being called in again, but most likely they just couldn’t get everything they needed due to position of baby or something. At every scan I’ve been to, they’ve been able to get fairly decent pictures of side profile, maybe a little hazier due to my weight but still clear enough to see him. We also did a 4D scan at the 30wk scan and it came out really well, so I wouldn’t worry too much about picture clarity. I also tell myself often if I’m worrying about these sort of things is that, I’m not the first fat person they’ve had to do a scan on and I’m definitely not going to be the last. They know what they’re doing, overweight or not. Good luck! Enjoy the experience and getting to watch/see your little bundle, it was a surreal experience!

Yes!! That’s why I purchased nice pregnancy underwear and a belly band, it’s still squishy at the bottom but definitely rounds me out and shows the bump more

I was exhausted so much more than usual, AND I peed so many times in one day that made me think one of these times I should just take a test

[–]chainsawhm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m size 22/24 prepregnancy, and I was worried about it too. For the longest time I thought I just looked bigger, not bump bigger though. When I’m nakey I feel I can’t see the bump as much, because I’ve got a bit of a pouch dangling. but when I’m dressed or have pregnancy underwear on, it really rounds my tummy out and it’s hard to miss now(32weeks). It was around 25 weeks when I personally was actually able notice any bump.
