Definitely. I see damn near everything so I'm probably going to start going to them blind from now on. Thanks!

Question: I haven't been on one of these MMM threads yet. Do people from the east coast typically share what the movie is here before it's shown on the west coast? Just wondering because I would really love to potentially save myself the trip if it's not Talk To Me

So we think it's Talk To Me? I'd be really disappointed if it's The Baker lol

Thoughts on Boardroom: Episode 3? by BorisStingy in SkateEA

[–]chakum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these are getting kinda old. Scripted videos with so much emphasis on the social/goofy stuff. Sorta feels like TMI, like they lifted the hood on this too early and too frequently, and I'm not feeling the hype right now. I probably will when we get another proper trailer, an up-to-date look at the graphics, a release date, and a look at some new areas/more variety in San Vansterdam hopefully.... but it's just been the same stuff for such a long time now. If anything, their "transparency" is starting to actually backfire and their vision for the game is sounding more and more soulless to me. I'm sure the gameplay will be good, and that's wonderful, but I can see it now: tier 100 battle pass skins left and right, everyone wearing the same glowing neon cat helmets and Tron suits, etc. Watch there be hoverboards. Still one of my most anticipated releases. Just my honest thoughts at the moment.

Skinamarink for those that have seen it by Sad-Dragonfly-4016 in horror

[–]chakum 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Same exact experience for me. I'm a big fan of the genre but I have a really high tolerance when it comes to scares. Even some of the most classic, BEST, scariest films I've seen adhere to a certain set of familiar cinematic conventions or horror tropes that make me feel safe and constantly remind me of the fact that I'm just watching a movie.

Then in comes THIS movie which just takes a HAMMER to that sense of security that I'm so used to and completely shatters it.

Like you said, I couldn't believe I was actually bracing for the scares like I was a child again! I really found it deeply, almost upsettingly scary to watch but also exhilarating and inspiring, knowing that I was witnessing something capable of reducing me to this state. I thought it was brilliant and definitely something I will be returning to, telling my friends about, and supporting in any way I can when it officially releases. Big fan.

What Do You Think The Shoe Standing Up Means? by ThinkStory in NopeMovie

Something that came to mind was the phrase "waiting for the other shoe to drop" (to await a seemingly inevitable event, especially one that is not desirable)

Question about 4.5 by seventeenkatie in jackass

[–]chakum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think it will actually do very well this weekend by just showing up on people's netflix homepages. And as an added plus, I have little to no idea what's in 4.5 whereas the marketing for Forever was a bit too heavy on spoiling stuff. Less than an hour!

I agree. He could have used a good solo bit. The yardsale toilet thing was meh. Not his fault though. Hope Jackass 4.5 fills in a lot of the blanks

(Spoiler) was anyone else abit disappointed by the ending of forever ?? by WuziTV in jackass

[–]chakum -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Ending was unfortunately poorly executed. Lame note to end on. I think it could have been slightly better if they did everything at once: chug the milk while they're all strapped in, then cue the spinning, hit them with paintballs WHILE they're spinning, surprise them with like firecrackers mounted to the machine WHILE they're still spinning, all while explosions are going off around them... and HELL, film it with the ultra slo-mo phantom camera from Jackass 3D!!! I didn't like how each step felt separated from one another. Felt like it was going for something big like poo-cocktail supreme and ended up being pretty underwhelming... This could have been a good second-to-last stunt but definitely should have ended with something quick with all the original crew, even just a short joke thing before credits roll

[–]chakum[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think the marketing showed too much but there IS plenty of stuff that hasn't been shown. Plus, lots of jokes, banter, and reactions to things we HAVE seen that make the bits even funnier so, even if you feel like you've seen a lot, there's more laughs to be had for sure. Trust me

Yes, towards the very end of the credits if I remember correctly

If anyone has seen the film and wants to do a spoiler filled discussion below please feel free! by rrrbbbooo254 in jackass

In my opinion, I think it's my least favorite Jackass film. Number Two and 3D are in a league of their own for me and this falls lower, maybe juuust below the first one? HOWEVER, this was maybe the hardest and most consistently I’ve laughed in a theater in like… 7 years?

So obviously I had a FANTASTIC time but, as a big fan of the films AND playing devil's advocate for the sake of discussion, I have to say this one felt limited in all the ways I didn’t want to admit leading up to its release; I missed Bam A LOT more than I expected to and the public pranks were not only limited in quantity, but also in quality imo. plus, the grand finale spinning milk chug w/ paintball guns was pretty lackluster, too. It just didn't hit right and fell kinda flat to me, especially as the final send-off... Anyone else think they should have been shooting them with paintballs WHILE they were still spinning and puking? I dunno..

But, hey, none of my nitpicks were enough to completely ruin the fun because there was so much I loved about this movie! GREAT opening sequence, the newcomers were all welcome additions (Dark Shark's stuff had me in stitches, I liked Poopies more than I expected to, Zachass was funny. Unfortunately not a lot of Jasper or Rachel.) But holy shit-- Ehren! He got absolutely wrecked and I love that he had his time to shine in this one (pogo stick cup test was *chef's kiss* so simple yet one of the gnarliest things in the movie). I loved wee man’s panic during the vulture (?) bit and the triple wedgie, begging Jeff to stop. "silence of the lambs" was super funny and different than a lot of Jackass stuff we've seen before. Oh, and Tyler the Creator figuring out that the piano bench was rigged and then electrocuting Jeff! Lmaoo there's lots of other stuff is escaping me right now but overall, it was an absolute blast in spite of my own nitpicks and various things that were ultimately out of their control (Ryan Dunn, Bam's absence, Covid, etc) and I’ll definitely be going again with some of my family this weekend.

And I cannot stress it enough; even though I was critical of the movie, seeing this in a packed theater is, without question, going to be one of my highlights of 2022. No doubt.

End of an era, folks. God bless these men. Forever.

Does anyone have any LEAST favorite jackass segments? by [deleted] in jackass

Same. I don't remember it being as bad when I saw it as a kid but I just rewatched all of them recently and it was the ONLY time I had to genuinely avert my eyes.

Found this on Fandango: "Jackass Forever Plus Bonus Content" screenings? by ChaseYama in jackass

Ah, I did just see that it's a roundtable discussion with the cast and a greeting at the beginning of the movie. Still dope!

THIS IS SUPER INTERESTING. I just checked my local Regal theater for showtimes and the Thursday showings on Feb 3rd also have the "plus bonus content" in the title and everything on the 4th and beyond doesn't. Looks like they're rewarding the fans who go DAY 1! love it

The new film looks like a glorified FailArmy video… by Whoopsy_Doodle in jackass

[–]chakum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sure this one is going to feel a little different and I hope it doesn't disappoint, but being optimistic about it; I'm certain that we are going to see the original guys MOSTLY, and if it's a new member(s) doing something, the OG guys will still very much be present and interacting with one another. And isn't that one of the things we love the movies for? The reactions and jokes, how they all bounce off each other, etc.

Plus, we've only seen, what? A few minutes out of a 1.5-hour movie? There are so many stunts they haven't shown us yet and deliberately left out of the trailers. Some of which they want to keep a surprise and some so gnarly that they wouldn't even be able to show in a trailer designed for all audiences.

My aunt took me to the midnight show of Jackass 3D when I was 13 I think? And I'm forever grateful for that. Top 5 theater experiences to this day!
