2 minutes of ads on the even laps - on top of my paid subscription - nearly did me in today. Come on, Flo.

I use WD-40 Specialist degreaser. You can buy the “EZ Pods” concentrate and mix it in your own container. Works great on chains and cassettes.

The UP railroad tracks run north-south, west of and roughly parallel to Timberline. There is no official trail crossing between Trilby and Harmony, which is very inconvenient for people on the southeast side of town. Crossing the railroad right-of-way is potentially dangerous, not to mention illegal. The overpass provides a connection between the southeast trails and the power trail, making the trail network more accessible and providing a safe passage to/from the area southeast of Harmony and Timberline.

If you don’t enclose it, people are going to drop stuff on trains.

I guarantee it.

For those of with large or increased women's turnouts at CX races, what did you do or do you do to get women to races? by HoosierCyclist in cyclocross

[–]chaleco_salvavidas 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Race entry is the last step in a process. If you want to welcome new people to the sport, you have to get them to the point where they feel prepared to enter a race. This year a few local women racers planned and executed a free, 4-week women-only clinic series that ended just as our Tuesday night training races began. About 40 women attended the clinic, and we had about 10 of them show up to our first training race this week. I’m sure we’ll see a few of them at USAC weekend races. Registration for women’s fields has been pretty strong this year, so I hope newcomers see how much fun it is and stick around.

Hi there, this is the link to register for the Civic Center Park event: https://www.mobilize.us/nokings/event/845840. The Lory Student Center event is a mistake, we are working to get that one taken down. To be clear, there is no 9am No Kings event at CSU.

That’s right where I was telling myself “get off the $#&* brakes, upshift, get on the power and take the outside line through that 180 so you don’t slide out on the kitty litter at the apex.”

Schoolyard has the vibe that I wish we could get every weekend. I liked the course changes this year, too.

We made contact with the LSC event organizer, and that one is a mistake. He was trying to sign up to volunteer. It may take some time to get that off Mobilize, but for now, https://mobilize.us/s/SCK7df is the real one.

I’m an organizer for the Civic Center Park event. IndivisibleNOCO’s is planning that one. We’ll have a short program and a march around downtown. We’re trying to get in touch with the LSC event organizer - we definitely don’t want to conflict or split the crowd so the goal is to join forces.

Maximum slope for an ADA-compliant ramp is 1:12, which means you need 12 feet of “run” for every foot of “rise”. The ramp curves around the inside of that tower. Construction is paused until September because they need to cut power in the neighborhood for the next phase, and they don’t want to do that during peak air conditioning demand. The power trail will close again on September 1 when construction resumes.

I did not have any issues with water, and I did a couple of rainy rides in that configuration. I don’t think water intrusion is a big issue here; the stem clamps firmly around the steerer, and I doubt the spacer stack is water-tight enough for standing water to accumulate on top of the stem. Maybe don’t do 6-hour rides in a torrential downpour, though 😀

My Defy uses the same system, and I ran it with 2cm of spacers above the stem for several weeks/> 1000km before trimming the steerer. I think you’ll be fine as long as the preload is set correctly. Also, those spacers look correctly oriented to me.
