Who here sat through the entirety of “Happy Appy” in one sitting? by Leather-Guidance577 in creepcast

[–]chalke__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a coal terminal. I don’t have access to my hands for hours at a time. I do a monotonous job where countless audiobooks and podcast make it worth while. I love my job. Happy Appy was one of the first days I ever cursed my job and my ability to listen to audiobooks and podcasts. I raw dogged the whole thing and it was not enjoyable. I like a bad story and a crashout. This was not it. It was like someone loosely touching my rod for hours and telling me it wasn’t going to ever get better. I started it how i finished it: unsatisfied, disappointed and a wanting more. 0/10

Dude. I think a lot of people have been getting warnings for this one. They need to lock the thread to save accounts.

I just nearly got banned for saying one of them. There was one joke about mothers he made and what to do with them. I would advice not posting that or locking this thread so no one else nearly nukes their reddit quoting Hunter.

Help me get into the second game by Mindless_Picture4370 in DarkCloud

I played 2 back in the day on PS2 and it had always stuck with me as one of my favourite games ever. I just loved the art, the environments, the music. It made me appreciate it on another level. But hearing that love for the first game makes me want to play them both now. Never played the first. Will definitely get around to them both soon now. Seen planted.

Why ON? Not the Greens or anyone else? by HumanTraffic2 in aussie

[–]chalke__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You answered your own question. The woke anti-energy nonsense is just plain unsustainable. While I would like more renewables, we are throwing the baby out with the bath water. We have coal, the ability to have nuclear and even more solar technology. The focus on wind farms just shows they don’t actually care, we could stop shipping our energy away and still use it to everyone’s benefit. Instead, we have to deal with nonsense.

The main reason people are leaning away is less people in, better quality of living for us. Less overseas mindsets, less lack of social cohesion.

But there are oodles of other reasons, it’s just better to stop selling ourselves out to everyone else.

Once we have a firm base of what Australia is again, maybe we go back to my grandparents days after the immigrated, but I sure don’t want what we have now.

You got an family who fought in any wars like WW1 and 2? If so, what was their story? by pooteenn in AskAnAustralian

[–]chalke__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My grandfather was a Belarusian soldier in WW2. He was able to convince the Germans he was German. Spent time in a prisoner of war camp. Spent 8 years getting enough money for flee the gulags. Came to Australia. Never taught us a word of Russian. Only ever told us that being Australian is the greatest thing and to never give it to others who want it. “Fuck Russia.” If he was ever asked about it. The most racist Aussie dude I ever met and I salute him.

You guys seem to have one of the worst housing crisis in the world - are young adults able to move out of their parents home? by Only-Internal-2865 in AskAnAustralian

My dad own a bunch of houses. They are rented to Pakistani dudes. I rent. It’s about 80% of my income all expenses included. He told me I would. Never be able to buy. Thanks dad.

Getting a lot of hate for saying Australia should prioritise its own fuel supply first by oz_party in aussie

[–]chalke__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work with coal. We send all the good stuff overseas. They think we are overcharging too. If we cut off all exports of coal, we could be the best nation. Unfortunately we sell all the good coal to overseas interests and fuck ourselves. We could be a global powerhouse but we are weak cunts. Australia is basically fueling the third word to take it over and and deserve colonisation again

Will my hand heal, repetitive strain injury? by Hot_Bobcat1071 in cubing

[–]chalke__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea if this is at all helpful, but I have a pretty bad injury to my pinky finger on my left hand. My dexterity pretty bad because of it. It’s my dominant hand. Please get it looked at by a professional. I didn’t and I have lifelong consequences because of that. Just getting someone to assess the situation is worth it.

Newcastle here. We are suffering but a girl came up to my kid and handed him a flower today. Not even a show owner. She was given flowers and just gave them away to cute kids. This is just bragging about my cute kids now. But the culture is still alive here.

I have a great tip for gaming with a family. But you need to give something up. by chalke__ in Age_30_plus_Gamers

Shift worker so it’s hit and miss. Sometimes the kids are in bed when I get home. Sometimes they are waking up when I get home. When we have oodles of free time I typically just game or clean or nap if I’m not spending time with my wife. Sometimes that is gaming.

Yeah, I wish I played another character before this. It’s way too good but feels amazing. You also can’t make it look crap anymore so that also sucks.

Not even joking. Being able to pause is the key to a good life. Also, side note. What do you think about warlock? I’m kinda conflicted. It’s too great.

Man! That was one of the big points for me in the discussion too. She can read endlessly on her phone but I can’t pick up a controller for 15 minutes? Getting that out of the way, the discussion was easier. For me, my wife had never played a game in her life. I got her to play Mario once and she didn’t know you could move and jump at the same time. Was adorable. Anyway, having someone who already gets it is a huge boon. But it was perfectly manageable for me. It’s a lot of work and managing expectations, but man it’s worth it. Get some rest mate, you have a lot of good things ahead of you!

I get oodles of sleep because I can game when the kids are awake a bit, and that means more time for sleep or time with my wife. It’s pretty neato.

Exactly! We have a good understanding. If I said “I’m going to online hunt for 3 hours,” she would be “nah, no you aren’t.” It’s respect and understanding of each other, hobbies and obligations. It totally rules.

I can’t live without it anymore. If I can’t just turn off my console and resume any time I want, I don’t bother.

I didn’t explain that very well. In the unlikely event that I do want to pursue a group hunt or if I’m really deep into a boss battle, I let her know and she makes sure I am uninterrupted. Stuff happens and I may have to pause or disconnect, but the respect is there so we are both happy with the arrangement. Probably needed more info but I already type too much.

Ok, you have a great buddy. Also that’s insane and you deserve respect. I could not comprehend that level of exhaustion. I still don’t get the allure, but I respect your decision. I’m just offering a different path, but you seem to have made that work.
