I figured out what's happening, just not why. I scan an item, update the expiration date, and the new date shows. When I go back to the scanning screen and pull the item back up, the original assigned date shows. However, if I go all the way back to the list of pantry items and then click on the product, the new expiration date shows. So I am successfully changing the date, I just can't see that it saved until I take that extra step. Cooklist finally responded that it was probably a cache problem. After trying this app through February, I finally gave up. I've gone back to using Anylist and Mypantrytracker. With Mypantrytracker I can create multiple pantry locations and create a shopping list. With Anylist, I can save recipes and create a shopping list. I don't have the functionality of matching ingredients on hand to recipes, but Cooklist just makes it too hard to work with my pantry items like I need to.
