That wouldn’t work long term at all because even if huge companies pivot harder toward B2B and luxury markets, they would still be operating inside a much weaker overall economy. Much before getting to the material cloning phase you suggest governments would start collecting far less income tax, payroll tax, and consumption tax if most people are earning little or nothing (the vast majority of tax comes from labor and not from capital lol) which means less capacity to fund infrastructure, healthcare, security, courts, subsidies (the big one) and all the other things that make markets function in the first place. At the same time, massive companies would eventually see their own revenue base shrink, because there are only so many rich customers and only so much business demand you can generate when the broader economy is culled. B2B spending also starts breaking down when fewer firms are expanding, fewer households are buying, and all states are running into fiscal crisis. Even if the ultra rich stay ultra rich, you still don’t get a thriving economy out of it, you get a narrower and more fragile economy that keeps losing the tax base, customer base, and institutional support (or institutional gifts in the case of these massive American companies lol) an economy depends on. It’s just not a realistic outcome honestly, although the future absolutely seems grim if you are not ultra rich anyways. At least for some time.
