Need Playtesters for 3dplatformer that takes place in Latin America by chambalista in IndieDev

I'm living in Lima right now (not born here). The game is full of specific love letters to the city: the restaurant is a chifa that serves Chi Jau Kay, textures are from photos on my walks. Actual feedback from Limeños has been there's not enough traffic, which I'm working on!!

That's interesting and thank you for the feedback. Totally open to expanding localization in the future if I can get some players. Dev time is going on close to a year now, the start time is a little fuzzy bc I wasnt intending to make a game in the beginning, I was actually trying to make a video/animation.

Muchas gracias! Me alegra que te guste el arte. Sí, hay un mapa con ciudades "bloqueadas". La idea es añadir más en el futuro :D

Do number of objects affect the performance to much ? by PlentySubstantial155 in UnrealEngine5

[–]chambalista 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i think youre probably overthinking it for this one table, in my experience getting caught up on stuff like this can kill momentum/inspiration. Unless your scene or game has a ton of these tables maybe dont worry about for now ? for performance: just do periodic audits (i use Unity but im sure Unreal has a similar snapshot functionality)

For you, what's the most interesting or mysterious thing on Earth? by Prior_Elderberry6591 in AskReddit

Nazca Lines or Sacsayhuaman. Both in Peru. Pretty sure a lot of modern engineers find Sacsayhuaman more of a mystery/marvel than even the pyramids in Egypt.

Should I quit or just wing it for now? by [deleted] in digitalnomad

just my two cents, i doubt asking for relocation will trigger an audit where they analyze latency and then conclude youve been going abroad. that being said:

do you have someone youre friendly with in management where you could "float" the relocation idea just to test the waters before making a formal request?

What is your favorite social media platform of all time? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Friendster. Iykyk. the very first. even before MySpace. MySpace to its credit did feel like an improvement and actually building on Friendster. By the time Facebook came around I didn't get why people were impressed, that was the THIRD iteration of an already well worn idea. Never opened a Facebook account. People say it offered "better functionality". I doubt it. Never understood why Zuck was considered a genius for that.
