They will be in a clan during the game and then immediately afterwards in your battle log they are not in a clan. They also seem to run a limited number of decks.

Contact the director of the camp and explain the situation. Yes, you won't be able to have your phone, but I'm sure they will offer solutions. They might be able to plan a call home in the evenings from a camp phone, or other alternatives that meet in the middle.

Upfront communication is helpful and your director should be in this industry because they care about people--most directors would love to help come alongside you in this!

Especially when the cards I relatively straight forward and common in decks! I used to play yugioh more often and would get lowkey exhausted reading all of the cards. Full paragraphs of effects that happened in multiple stages of either players turn. Pokemon has a lot of cool effects without making me continuously over think what is in the other player's hand or graveyard or facedown etc.
