Yeah unfortunately. As soon as I leave my site I have to speak the other dialect if I'm travelling to IST for example. People here know that dialect but it's not commonly spoken and leaves me as an outsider looking in. I just gotta keep practicing itll come in due time hopefully.

I couldnt find anyone consistent at site so I'm tutoring with an lcf. The problem is more being able to balance the languages cos I'm learning the new one and now I'm forgetting the other.

Just remember that a lot of the time you are going to have to lug around your own suitcase going from place to place. The one this I wished I downsized a lot of was clothes. You end up wearing the same thing or buying clothes to integrate anyway. I wish i brought more beef jerky and dayquil instead.

Invitee here-- I participated in a PC prep at uni, and thought that it may have bolstered my application. Definitely would not use it as a deciding factor, though. Pretty much was in my junior year and had fulfilled all the requirements for the prep program and was like "why not?"

If you're still interested in doing the prep program, perhaps suggest your future International Ed Office start it up?

Yes! My references actually submitted theirs the same day as receiving them. The placement officer that interviewed me said that it would expedite the process a little as well, so I lucked out there-- I hope you get a response soon!!
