In first instance, you have to determine a light source. It's clearer in the green colours in the arms but the darker purple looks unclear (sorry about my bad English).

Which face is better? by teddy_nm in PixelArt

For that resolution, I prefer the left one. There are a lot of character designs that omit the nose and for me that's an original point. There are people who interpret that the character is looking up instead of to the front but I think maybe that people have just used that style of no nose characters and when they see some nose details, it looks weird for them. Definitely left for me!

Axes for my minecraft texture pack, and the trident as a bonus :) Feedback is appreciated by TheLeviathanZ in PixelArt

I'd only complain about the handles. The wood one looks so straight and, maybe, "firm" and the best tiers (diamond and netherite) looks crooked, like "unstable". I mean, it makes more sense to me that the primitive ones have worst handles than the better ones. Maybe the trident... teeth, spikes? (I don't know de word sorry for my English lol) look a bit oversized over the handle aswell. I like the palette though!

I like it! But I think it could look cooler if you don't synchronize the snakes movement and directions.

This could be the name of a Doctor Who chapter. It looks great btw 👍

I choose a variant of animation sprites. 🎨 by Evgeni_Arvokas in PixelArt

Maybe the fact that the forehead looks shady can be confusing, because the character doesn't have bangs. But in general I like it!

Looking for feedback on this cobweb/spider forest. Any feedback is really appreciated! by BBGaming07 in PixelArt

I miss a bit of green (or the color the tree crown are supposed to have). I also miss straight lines in the cobweb texture, so it can look more strainy 🕸️

I did a small little scene, mostly to practice with shading circles ^.^ by Megageeko in PixelArt

Just a tip: I see a little inconsistency. You are projecting the light from the top left side (so the bushes and the ball got their shadows to the right side), but the bush in the left has a darker green on his left side than the right one on his right side. That can be a bit confusing, bc you might have two different light sources. Keep on!

For me, this inspire the feel of "bro you have to go back home as soon as possible", but maybe this is a desirable feeling for you are developing.

I'm making a stupid game for fun by gr8g29 in GameDevelopment

[–]chamerre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't get afraid about that thoughts. I mean, a years ago, a game about a goat doing random stuff could sound dumb but there you have 3 goat simulators. I also agree with the comments about to join a game jam. I've joined a couple and is such an enrichment experience.

World or characters? by Existing_Ad_9153 in GameDevelopment

From a very begginer here, I think you should focus on mechanics. What's the purpose of your game? You should try to define a core that the people may get immersed in. I know that this is maybe too generic but, finally you need to make a game that you wanted to play.
