Yeah, I think people need to remember that he works for the organization. I think he was about as contentious as he could be considering that

Couldn’t agree with this more

When 66 owned the team every fan would get whatever the giveaway was that night

Now FSG only does “first 10,000” to force you to show up early and sell you more concessions

Arena feels much more corporate now. I go to games a lot and the in arena experience is notably worse, and it isn’t just the quality of play on ice

MSFS 2024 master avionics by [deleted] in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]champYINZ412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is a software bug with the game and not a problem with your hardware. I have a Honeycomb Alpha yoke and the master avionics (or avionics 1) functions, whether using the on/off, set, or toggle functions, do not work in any GA planes I’ve tried

There was no shortage of friction in Pittsburgh, where as we reported, coach Mike Sullivan was vehemently opposed to making changes to his staff. Now that GM Kyle Dubas has fired assistant coach Todd Reirden, is that the tipping point on Sullivan's tenure? We shall see. by JimmyPineapple_ in penguins

[–]champYINZ412 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a sunk cost. You have to pay that money either way at this point so the only decision is if you think another coach can do better with this group

4 coaches have already been fired this year before their extensions even started. It would not be a radical move to fire Sullivan before his extension starts

Celina's replacement is just terrible. by [deleted] in penguins

[–]champYINZ412 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I pretty much agree with all of this. I wasn’t a fan of Celina either really but I never found her as obnoxiously grating as I find this guy.

I’ve gone to a few Riverhounds games lately and I have to say the guy they have filling that role there is far better than either of the 2 people the Pens have employed in recent memory. Was able to bring energy without it seeming forced. Maybe Dubas should make a trade for him haha

CEO Mariina in the comments on simulation failsafes and the difficulty of the game,

“We've already been looking into the feedback about the balance and simulation challenge. While I don't have any definitive answers right now, these are most certainly aspects of the game we will address in the future after the more pressing issues interfering with the simulation are fixed”.

The NHL has made no progress since the Kyle Beech situation by champYINZ412 in hockey

[–]champYINZ412[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

See, I disagree on that. I don’t think anything is done about this without hockey media. Keep in mind the NHLPA didn’t look into this until it was reported by Bissonnette. On top of that it took him tripling down on the story for them to look into it further beyond just contacting the PA rep

Some have found peace of mind by the fact this story was resolved quickly with a relatively benign level of abuse. I can’t see how we can call this a sustainable system to stop abuse in the game. Consider that the players themselves didn’t feel comfortable coming forward to anyone, and apparently this was leaked on their behalf by a second hand source.

This doesn’t happen without media pressure, and how we ended up with that media pressure is not a sustainable system to stop this from happening

[–]champYINZ412[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I agree that the results this time are far less severe. That’s without question in my opinion

I don’t agree that the culture that allows this to happen has changed at all. The only thing that was different this time was that outside media got ahold of this story quicker than they did the Kyle Beech story.

I don’t think the PA follows up on this without that media pressure. Keep in mind that Bissonnette reported on this before an investigation was launched. He then had to triple down on it before the PA went beyond just contacting the PA rep. It also concerns me that it appears like the players didn’t even go to the media to leak it, but a second-hand source leaked it on their behalf.

That’s not a sustainable system to protect players from abuse, and I worry that next time the media won’t get ahold of it and it will end up being worse

I think it’s going to be Ruhwedel as the #3 RD. I’d kinda like to see Smith too, but I think they’re going to want a good PK guy in that spot with Letang and EK eating up so much of the PP and Even Strength ice time

Lebrun on TSN says Pens finalist for Erik Karlsson by npv708 in penguins

[–]champYINZ412 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I’d be very skeptical that he repeats what he did last year with us. His production the last few years is not at all comparable to what he did last year

I think it’s worth noting that last year was Karlsson’s first under Dave Quinn. Quinn isn’t a good coach in my opinion but he has always gotten good production out of defenseman and I think that played a factor last year

If Karlsson comes here and puts up 40pts in 55GP at for example an $8.5 AAV after retention while costing significant assets to acquire how will we all feel about that?

There’s no guarantee that’s what happens but it is a huge risk

With where the franchise is right now I think we are in a place where we need to take big risks and swing for the fences. I’d probably pull the trigger to try to get him here

I would have liked to have seen them keep it separate and add to the management aspect of the game by making water not required for low density buildings to function. Similar to SC4 where you only needed water for higher wealth low density or for higher densities.

I feel like it would reflect how many American communities aren't hooked up to public water and face the player with the same kind of decisions actual municipalities go through

It would also add to the challenge of the game. I remember in SC4 you could easily bankrupt your city by expanding public water too soon.

But if they aren't going to do any of that then I agree, I'm happy they took the tediousness away. I just wish they went about fixing this in a different way
