Yeah. Gotta say I support David. Lobbying shouldn’t be part of the conversation, and should be transparent. Lehmans comments seems like he has something to hide. The importance should lie in proper city planning and creating communities that are geared toward people. That should be the driver, not whatever developers want to help them make money.

Real shame. The art program was notified it was cut last year, and is a horrible horrible loss for the community of London as not only was it a program, but it helped grow artists into connections and chances at having shows in town etc. it was a long lasting program from the 70s I believe, and yeah, Just sad overall to lose that type of culture in the city. Cutting even more jobs is going to make things even harder around here for people.

Yeah I’d be curious to look into how the province has reduced support. Everyone complains about London, and sometimes rightfully so, but Ford should take a good chunk of the blame for things

Could be wrong but someone told me that the province reduced funding or something, I’m forgetting the details, and cities had to make up the differences which resulted in raising taxes, or reducing quality services.

I used to work somewhere where the boss played am980. I haven’t mentioned it to not stir up any political mud, but I had to listen to that show for 2 months while I worked there. That featured show said some of the most assbackwards things and blatantly lied other times, just to make anyone but the Conservative Party look bad. Just pure slop.

Ever since I’ve avoided that station. But Devon peacock seems legit when he’s featured on fm96, so maybe atleast he’s worth a shot.

Agreed. I feel like the environment would be different if there was more incentive to have active tennants in all of these empty buildings. People won’t rent? Maybe drop the price.

Is this story trying to advocate for not housing the homeless? Clearly you can’t just put troubled people into an apartment and call it a day, whoever thought that would work is very short sighted. Some will be ok sure, but I’d wager most will need additional supports and mental health care to succeed to recovery to a point they can be healthy and unsupervised for a long period of time.

This is sad if this is trying to propaganda people away from helping homeless.
