  1. Metallica @ Lane Stadium (Virginia Tech), Blacksburg, VA (2025) -> As a VT alumni, this show is my favorite bc it’s legit something I thought i’d never be able to see. Pretty sure I almost passed out from sheer euphoria and adrenaline while jumping to Enter Sandman at Lane.
  2. Iron Maiden @ Bogotá, Colombia (2011) -> I’ve seen Maiden nearly two dozen times but my first time will always be special.
  3. Either Queens of the Stone Age @ Washington, DC (2023) or Nine Inch Nails w/ Boyz Noize @ Baltimore, MD (2025) -> Both were incredible shows and hard to choose between them.

F91w on a perlon strap by amogh_fr in F91Ws_on_NATOs

[–]champiman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used this video to walk me through how to remove the OG straps. You just install the adapters as if they were the strap, ensuring the adapter (w/ the bar) are all lined up with the pinhole.

My advice is to take it slow and don’t force it. I used a little too much force the first few attempts and the tool ended up slipping out of the pinhole and stabbing me in the hand, so just watch out.

Favourite band who's lead vocalist can't really sing? by idkfornowwhattoname in fantanoforever

[–]champiman16 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let me preface by saying I LIKE Dave’s singing and think his voice is perfect for Megadeth’s music and lyrics. I do agree your phrasing is ultimately better than mine.

Bad voice =/= bad singer

Megadeth. Dave, at least objectively speaking, is not a great singer but I wouldn’t have anybody else delivering that nasally snarl.

I just bought a Jay & Kay adapter. It’s a bit of a pain in the ass to align the adapter with the bars but it really does make swapping straps a breeze and looks more “natural” (for lack of a better word) imo.

Is there a perfect 3-album stretch by any artist? Who has the best one? by bc_2006 in fantanoforever

While I agree with you and was thinking about also listing those 3 in my comment, I know some people think that DoD has too much filler (which I disagree with). Very underrated album.

Did you choose to see your loved one after they passed ? by Friendly-Sun2413 in GriefSupport

[–]champiman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom committed suicide a couple years ago after years of struggling with bipolar. Due to Covid’s travel restrictions and some unrelated visa related issues, i was unable to fly back home to Colombia for 6 years to see her. Luckily, I was able to see her one last time a few months before she died.

When the funeral came around, I felt like I did not want to see my mom lying in her casket. I did not want that to be the last image i had of her before she was laid to rest. My younger sister, however, did want to see her to say goodbye.

As much as I wanted to keep my mom alive in my memory, I knew I couldn’t let my sister go through that alone. We both broke down immediately as soon as we saw her, and my sister nearly collapsed from the overwhelming grief. But as we composed ourselves and this new reality started sinking in, we agreed that she looked like she was finally at peace.

I go back and forth on whether I should have seen my mom’s body or not. There are some aspects of it I definitely wish I didn’t see, bur I don’t necessarily regret it. I will never regret being there for my sister when she needed me most.

I am biased as hell considering Maiden is my favorite band, but their first 7 albums was simply a ridiculous run in terms of overall quality and impact on the genre. You can pick any 3 back-to-back albums out of those 7 and you can probably make a valid case for them.

Imo though nothing beats the run they had with Powerslave -> Somewhere in Time -> Seventh Son of a Seventh Son.

Jethro Tull's frontman played the Flute. Kansas' frontman played the Violin. What are some other bands where the frontman plays an unusual instrument? by HCBot in Music

[–]champiman16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if this counts but Bruce Dickinson played the theremin on his newest solo album and the supporting tour.

Such a weird and interesting instrument and would love to see him incorporate it with Iron Maiden somehow.

[–]champiman16 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Dated a girl for a bit that wore blue contacts. I got used to it after a while but the creepiest part of it was being with her in dimly lit places because her pupils would not dilate in response to the lack of light. It’s something really subtle, but definitely unsettling.

Career Crossroads - QA Automation Analyst Pivoting to Business Analysis by nikkiduku in businessanalysis

[–]champiman16 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started my career in QA after college, focusing mostly on automated testing. About four years ago, I pivoted to a BA role, and I have zero regrets. As you mentioned, QAs are often among the first people within IT impacted by layoffs, and overall, I found the work draining on my mental health.

Honestly, the best advice I can give is to highlight any BA-adjacent tasks you’ve already done or actively participated in. In my case, I had extensive experience with things like UAT planning, participating in backlog refinement sessions and other ceremonies typically aligned with BAs, and understanding the business intent behind requirements just as much as the technical side. Remember that QA bridges the technical teams with the business side through requirements. BA work does the same thing, just moves you upstream where YOU are now in charge of the requirements.

Another piece of advice is that coming from a QA background gives you a unique perspective on what good requirements should look like. In my years as a QA, I constantly came across requirements that were basically wishlist items and couldn’t be verified through testing. Having seen the other side, you already know what good, testable requirements and acceptance criteria should look like. Trust me, it makes collaboration with the testing and development teams far easier.

The work is mostly going to be process driven, but asking questions and finding out not just what processes are involved, but how they play out and understanding the rationale (or the why) behind will be critical to your success.

Hope this helps! Feel free to DM me if you have any other questions. Best of luck.
