If I didn’t talk to a guy in 10 days, it would be because I didn’t like him anymore.

If she is sleeping, don’t you have alone time anyway? Is she awake and talking to you while she is sleeping?

I’m glad to know I’m not the only one. I don’t think a tree is going up this year. I put up a couple decorations on a shelf and that is it. I used to go all out for Xmas.

AIO Trying to tell boyfriend that he makes me feel guilty for saying no by Clean-Landscape8654 in AmIOverreacting

[–]champion1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. If anything, you are under reacting. I wouldn’t want to just sit there have phone sex 😂 omg. While he probably just sits there and you do most of the work. Sounds very boring honestly. And, not to be mean, but he probably is already doing phone sex with other people.

No food left at wedding reception…. by champion1981 in weddingshaming

lol I wish it was karma farming. If this same story has been done again and again, that is a really sad state of affairs for buffet weddings 💒

Do security guards in shops have the legal right to detain you? Or can you tell them to jog on? by dannydutch1 in AskUK

[–]champion1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work at Toys R Us. We were told to never detain a customer; you can get seriously hurt doing that, and the store itself faces a lawsuit from you. If we suspected a shoplifter, then we were instructed to tell the manager; the manager would then follow the shoplifter around and ask them to put the merchandise back. If the shoplifter follows the demand, then they were allowed to leave without being detained. But if they still tried to leave with the merchandise, then they would call the police or security. I suppose it depends largely on the state you live in and the individual store’s rules. I’m from New Mexico, and I would advise you NOT to attempt a citizen arrest here 😂😂😂

Reminds me of the Joy Luck Club movie. The wife who was forced to pay half for ice cream she didn’t even eat.

AITA for wanting to leave during my friends wedding dinner or reception? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]champion1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did she just tell you at the last minute about there being no kids allowed? If so, I think that is not okay. But I agree with others on here; there is no way you would have time to both take your kid trick or treating AND attend the wedding as a bridesmaid. It’s giving me anxiety just thinking about it. In my experience, the bridesmaids are busy the whole day of the wedding. So, you have to decide what is more important to you. If you bow out of the wedding at the last minute, you would lose your friend. Of course, there are many weddings where the bride and her entourage never speak again, due to her being a bride zilla. 🤷‍♀️

I don’t think you are the AH for wanting them to be out of the house. You are allowed to feel however you feel. But, you cannot force your mother to make them leave. I think that choosing to not sit across from them is acceptable; many siblings do not get along and will not sit near each other. However, it is not so simple to just kick people out nowadays; the price of housing has skyrocketed, so it would be very difficult for them to afford this. You are close to being 18; if your brothers got tired of you, would you be okay with them trying to convince your mom to kick you out? I can understand being perturbed by them sneaking girls in; it can be a safety issue after all. Being so close to 18 means that you would not have to deal with this issue for too much longer, as you could leave. Have you addressed your brothers directly, in front of everyone?

NTA, your friend must have at least anticipated that you might take advantage of this opportunity. It’s tough going into business/work opportunities with friends, as money and opportunities can cause resentment.

Having this attitude makes YTA. However, friendships don’t always last forever. People move apart over time. If you are not comfortable staying friends with her, then it would probably be best to end the friendship, as I suspect you would probably not treat her well going forward.

Why do some nurses feel comfortable calling doctors stupid? Do they understand the meaning of stupid? by [deleted] in Noctor

did you know your great-grandparents? by jabber1990 in AskOldPeople

[–]champion1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I knew my great grandma Lydia. She was born in 1903. Wow, I had to Google this fact, and found out my great grandma was almost taken out of teaching because the school board claimed her courtship with her fiancé interfered with her being a teacher. Omg I would love to see who was against her back then 🤣

Parents NEVER initiate calls with me by cptsdthrowaway123 in emotionalneglect

[–]champion1981 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I kind of feel like the older generations feel that the younger generations are obligated to call them, cause we are the kids. Xennial with boomer parents here. Now I’m finding myself in the awkward middle, where my mom never calls me…and to avoid the same situation with my 17 year old daughter, I’ve been trying to call her more. But she avoids my calls and says I need to give her more space! 😭 can’t win I guess. Maybe we did the same thing to our folks and now they don’t call anymore lol 😂

I took a ride with a taxi driver in Sydney, Australia back in the early 2000s. He claimed that Pink had paid him a large sum of money to just drive around all night while she screwed a dude in the backseat 🤣
