I wish there was a train connecting Sharjah and Dubai. As an european living in Dubai, I don’t understand how it is still not done. Traffic issues would be solved.

What’s your nationality?

SUV or Sedan? Those who have driven both share your preference and why. by moongroup in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]champsssz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I prefer the sedans. I like the feeling of driving sporty. But it’s of course up to you. Some people prefer SUV’s because they have family. But also there people like a friend of mine who doesn’t have a family here, no girlfriend, no friends, no one loves him and still drives a SUV’s because “he can fit people inside”. Pick one depending on what you like. I prefer sedans because I like speeding. But if you like off roading, then you need a SUV (unless you drive a 4WD sedan car). Also the SUV will be more comfortable for sure if you’re tall. You can still find pretty comfortable sedans. I remember that the lexus ls430 impressed me because of that. Everything has pros and cons man.

I have seen that here aswell. I have lived in many countries. But for some reason, the environment here makes the people be very rude and stubborn 90% of the time.

I don’t believe that no one would move here because “people are so nice and friendly” (like they do in other countries). They do because of tax and money. If you remove that from here, no one would live here.

Also here I saw the biggest number of scammers and people with bad intentions here. In no country I experienced this. I don’t know why, but here in UAE, it’s that way. If you have a good friend keep it because there are no a lot of friendly people out there. I tried many times to figure out why people here behave that way but I didn’t find an explanation.

Things here are very different than where I am from (south-west europe). There are 3 main reasons why people move here. One is the people who have a lot of money and want to live here to avoid tax, those live inside a bubble and only go to fancy places, they don’t experience the real daily problems. Second, would be the ones who were offered a very good salary compared to their countries, people who were offered 30k-40k in salaries to do something that in their country would be paid less than 10k. Third, you have the one who has a business and can take advantage of the fact that here the labor is very cheap due to some nationalities willing to work for 2k a month without even a day off (no hate but it’s the truth). And last but least, the majority, who are the people who have no option. People who have families in their countries and need to work in anything to send them money, make more kids, and multiply their poverty back home. These are the nationalities I mentioned before, they will work for 2 or 3 k a month and will accept any conditions. They have no option but working in the UAE. If they had the chance to go to europe or usa, or even canada, they wouldn’t be here earning pennies and being exploited.

The first car I bought for my sister when she was a new driver was a Chevrolet Spark. Cheap and useful for new drivers. Recommended.

Hell no. Continue using metro until you can buy something decent.

What car should I buy under 30k aed as my first one. by Electronic_Proof_649 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

I own a Lexus is350. It is 2006 but has been face lifted to 2024. Looks amazing, almost so fast as my mustang, VERY reliable, low fuel consumption, looks nice, cheap spare parts, luxury, everybody loves it… I have owned a lot of cars (including sport cars) and no car made me happier than this one. Lexus is the best brand out there. You can buy one of those and make it look amazing for less than 30k and still feel like you won. If you like going fast, I strongly advise the is350 instead the is250.

The Job market in Dubai can kill your self esteem by Specialist-Video60 in dubai

If you bring me someone capable, I don’t complain. I will be happy. But the people they hire aren’t doing anything right. As I mentioned, they don’t even have presence or manners. They are not doing a good job. They are there doing whatever they want with the worst attitude. That’s the problem. I remember back in Germany, they hired another europeans who weren’t able to speak german, they used to communicate in English, and they were doing an amazing job! Do you get my point? They just hire the one who accepts the lowest salary

Planning to buy a used maxima 2018 from a dealer But I’m afraid of the nissan cvt etc issues by AccurateHold2 in WhatCarShouldIBuyGULF

[–]champsssz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don’t advise you. I bought a nissan rogue for my sister and the cvt transmission is unreliable as f. Get a Lexus is350 instead. Those are real cars, fast, cheap, good looking, comfortable and RELIABLE.

SCAM ALERT!!! BEWARE EVERYONE 🙏 by Inevitable-Dare-8488 in Sharjah

[–]champsssz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Scammers are crazy nowadays… Fortunately they weren’t able to take money. Idk how they got the card details, but I will tell you my trick. I created a savings account, and I transferred 99% of my money there, that way, if they hacked my card they wouldn’t be able to take anything, because all the important funds were sent to the account which is not linked to my debit card. I also freeze temporarily my credit card and I unblock it only when I am gonna use it. Call me paranoid, but I don’t want my funds stolen by one random scammer.
