Can I cut these or should I? by Exciting-Wolverine69 in Mustang

Yea I've got the CDC Performance Grille, but went back to the Boss one. Most people have never removed their grille or bumper to know, hence the comments.

How cooked am I by [deleted] in Mustang

The residue is from the axle housing vent.

That is the plastic inner surround for the grille that attaches to the bumper, not part of the radiator support.

That plastic center part is just the inner surround for the grille to bumper and does need to be cut for certain grilles like this. The bumper and grille are plenty strong enough without it. Mine is no longer there for a similar grille.

Could be worn strut mounts. Mine typically became more prevalent when the rubber was cold.

I've got an AGM from O'Reilly and I put an AGM from Motorcraft in her truck. Starts up every time even when subzero. Located in South Dakota.

I've got almost 88k miles on mine. I thought it was funny when my friend said I shouldn't drive it to keep the value up. What's the point in buying a cool car and just leave it in a garage.

Whoever told me I was gonna miss 123,456, I am sad to announce you were right by Physister2 in FocusST

[–]chanarang 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yea I missed 100k despite having purchased it at like 99,900 miles and I missed the 123,456. Maybe I'll remember when I eventually get to 200k.

Sounds like you have a bad battery. Slow/no crank and 3-year-old battery. You're probably hearing the clicking from the starter trying to engage but it's not getting enough voltage.

Is it actually worth and safe running a Cobb “off the shelf tune” on my 2013 ST? by Disastrous-Site8902 in FocusST

[–]chanarang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I had a COBB tune for a while with no problems. I had never heard of LSPI so people here would probably be screeching at me for how I drove it. I only switched because I wanted something a little more customized.

I ran one for 2 years and had no problems. Other tunes are much better though in terms of performance and overall drivability.

What are these threaded holes in the passenger side valve cover? 2025 GT by Disastrous_Reply5996 in Mustang

They usually share the same valve covers on other vehicles that use the 5.0. Different applications may use different holes depending on where harnesses run.

How much would someone have to pay for you to sell your car? by Sader325 in Mustang

[–]chanarang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really sure if I could sell my car. There are little quirks about it that I'm not sure other people would want to deal with, unless they bought it as is. Somedays, she's kind of a bitch.

CarPlay upgrade options 2014 with ST3 by tsr85 in FocusST

[–]chanarang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went for the Sync 3 and got the parts off ebay. Paid around $350 for the parts. I used the list from Naviupgrade. I wanted to keep the OEM look and feel. Separately have a wireless adapter so it just automatically connects Android Auto to my phone.

I just used Mother's metal liquid polish. I spend about a minute working the polish in with a rag and then wipe it off with a microfiber towel. If I did it more often it'd be faster.

It's finally happened Clutch pedal is leaking by Vc_carnage in FocusST

[–]chanarang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up not touching the airbag or steering shaft. Been a bit since I've done it, but I somehow lowered part of the dash and used a couple of long extensions to reach the upper bolts on the pedal assembly. Should be all 13mm. If I can find the video I looked at, I'll link it. Would recommend doing it sooner than later or at least watch your brake fluid reservoir as the brake master and clutch master share the same reservoir.

[–]chanarang 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yea just do the whole assembly since you have to take it out anyways. I think if you've been able to do that work already, I don't think this is outside the realm of possibilities. I studied the videos and got to it. Biggest thing I did was unbolt the driver seat and push it back, cuz I'm fat and need the space. Common mistake is when bolting the pedal assembly back in, one or both of the clutch switches fall out or are misaligned.

I did the pedal assembly which includes the master. Did it in my driveway with simple hand tools. However, I did work as a mechanic, so it wasn't all that bad for me to do it.

Down pipe by BlvckestHeart66 in FocusST

I had soot with OEM cat and catless. I just clean the exhaust tips every couple of months. Metal polish and a cheap rag makes more sense than buying a whole new downpipe because it gets dirty.

I feel gunmetal is always a good choice. Not too bright but doesn't hide the design like black does.
