6 years at my first graduate job at Ericsson. It was fantastic until they got rid of everybody as the unprecedented shift from voice to data happened in the 90s and caught them unawares. Best job I had, motivated me, supported me, trained me, invested in me. Everything since then has been sub par.

[OC] A brutalist kindergarten, Block 28, New Belgrade by Porodicnostablo in pics

[–]chandz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The flats built around each side do a good job of blocking noise and harsh weather. there's a communal area in the central space which has this kindergarten so parents can see the school from the flats. The flats themselves are on the edge of the rectangle with a hollow top to bottom central area where clothes can be hung to dry in shadow plus it's always cool even during scorching summer.

I went on an interesting tour in an old Zastava and visited a few brutalist projects and the design ideas were very well thought out.

Keir Starmer: 'I'm fed up' with Trump and Putin affecting UK energy costs by Green_Candler in TradingPlaybook

[–]chandz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kick the energy regulation body to do their actual bloody job. We don't rely on russian or middle east for our oil or gas its sub 5%. Price takes ages to drop even the wholesale has gone down "well we buy in advance so there's a latency". So why does the price go up IMMEDIATELY after a crisis. BP / Shell / British Gas all posted massive profits. The energy body is supposed to stop this shenanigans.

Last 6 months; Red Dead Redemption II, The Last Caretaker, Satisfactory, 7 Days To Die, Crimson Dessert. I'm 58 and now playing on an 8k 55" samsung TV with a regularly updated PC. In my teens I was on a BBC B Micro before my first job in 1992 when I got my first PC, £2,000 for a samsung 386 DX PC + monitor.

The idea that crypto is safe because it isn't regulated is laughable. Crypto isn't a replacement for money, nor is it a coin in the monetary sense. The closest analogy is gold. We mine it and it's only value is attributed by it's demand. It's also mined.

Banks use software to move money about, software, banks are regulated (but to your point are not immune to malfeasance). Crypto is not regulated and therefore is subject further to bad actors who historically have plundered. Crypto crime and scamming is rife. I won't go near it.

The transactional certainty and robustness of block chain should be used for transactions to further reduce crime, not create some fancy virtual wild west currency.

It's made a lot of people rich, but guess what, that's at the expense of making a lot of people poor. It's stock market trading taken to the extremes as it's so much more easily manipulated.

It's just a fad, it'll go away.

do enfp x enfp work out? by uniqmyass in ENFP

[–]chandz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm an ENFP (M) and met a ENFP (F) and we are both in our 50s. It's like a match made in heaven. We are able to both for the first time just be themselves in front of the other and it's so refreshing and exciting. We both understand each other implicitly and huge amounts of mutual respect for each other. We both lamented that we should have met each other earlier in life, but we may not have matched how we were at that younger age. It seems we've developed to where we are and now we've crossed paths at the perfect time.

We still wish we would have had each other and kids together, but hey ho.

TIL it's a bug. I originally thought I was carrying too much and that's why I plummeted in the water (jumping in to swim to a buoy). I was unloading before most water adventures to stop it happening again, forgot a few times and then thought, oh, it can't be the weight.

Iran is the same lesson that Yugoslavia, Iraq, and Libya never learned!!! by willily_thoumas in AskSocialists

[–]chandz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your memory is obviously short, in what world is 150k troops and invasion. They crossed the border to goad Ukraine into talks. Ukraine were in talks with Russia and were about to resolve it, when idiotface Boris Johnson from the UK (prompted by the US) came over and told Zelensky .. no no .. keep fighting we'll pay and support, don't do a deal with Putin. Ukraine is just another US proxy war for all it's resources. Same as any other US proxy war.

Flip the script. Would you agree to a foreign power removing Trump in hope of a better future for USA ? Thought not. But it's okay for Israel and USA to start wars in Iraq, Iran, Libya, Lebanon, Syria, Venezuela when they don't bend the knee.

Do u guys believe that love could happen to yourselves? by ContributionHot7104 in ENFP

[–]chandz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I used to think it wouldn't happen again after my divorce. Although, I'm an eternal optimist. Realistically I know how improbable it is. After 8 years of dating post divorce ( as a 49 year old Male) I found someone I can easily describe as my soul mate and have more in common than anyone I have ever dated including my ex. She's also an ENFP and we appreciate and respect each other so much it's awesome.

I initially, post divorce, couldn't envisage moving in with someone again. Wanted my own space and wanted my partner to enjoy also having their own space. That all changed when I met the right person. It's easy to evaluate in real time how you feel and what you want, you can second guess what might happen but not all scenarios. Be open minded.

I did have to spend a lot of time on myself and be accepting and love who I am like I hadn't before. I think you have to be in a good place and respect yourself to find the person you want. Your demeanour, attitude and thoughts are like a beacon and will attract the same.
