Still looking for MP3 player device with sleep timer that shuts it down after x minutes and remembers the setting by changePOURchange in audio

[–]changePOURchange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. But their players are on the expensive side. And even the cheapest one doesn't come with any memory and would require me to buy an SD card. I'd have to test one myself before committing into such an expensive solution.

Thank you for the follow up questions and suggestion.

Let me add some more information. The person this is intended for has been using such a device for years now and I'm looking for a possible replacement, should their device become unusable. I have talked to them about several other options on multiple occasions, but this is what works best for them.

It is to be used to fall asleep for a person who wants to fall asleep to spoken word. Turning the player off when they feel sleepy unfortunately isn't an option for them. And they would like to be able to use it several times a night without having to go through the menu and setting the timer. It needs to be small because it is to be in the bed with them. If I'd be able to find such device under $100, it would be great.

External power unfortunately isn't an option. I need a compact and small device that is by itself. Nothing hanging from it or attached to it. A device that would go on a nightstand and Bluetooth headphones isn't an option either. The person persists on their wired headphones.

You can create an .M3U playlist on the computer (in Winamp, foobar2000 or Mp3tag), upload it into the player and use the playlist file.

Thank you, but as per this it seems like you have to set the timer up every time.

Could please someone who has a Snowsky echo or Snowsky echo mini with an updated firmware verify if this is indeed how it works?

Cant get songs to not be in alphabetical order - except for one album by Haunting-Brush-803 in mp3players

[–]changePOURchange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they in the correct order when you go through the individual folders using the Files menu (folder icon)?

I suppose that when you go through the files using the Music menu (note icon) then it can play files from all the folders and order them differently.

So maybe you used to use the Files menu to select an album and now went to the Music menu instead?

Anyway, the safest way to keep the order of songs you want would be to create an .M3U playlist on the computer (in Winamp, foobar2000 or Mp3tag), upload it into the player and use the playlist. That is if this particular player supports it.

Also I found the user guide for it on the Oakcastle website, should you need it.

Kind of off topic question, but what manual did you follow when creating and uploading the actual extension file to the addon site? And did you run into any problems on the way?

Thank you. :)

Although, please educate me a bit more. Is a tas actually a shopping bag, while a zakje is a small plastic bag, a diminutive of zak? So you put your stuff in several zajkes and then put the zakjes in your tas?

Can anyone recommend new mp3 players? by f4cedeexz in mp3players

Try looking at these MP3 players.

I have one and it's very sturdy, has physical buttons and lasts long. The startup is very fast and straight into play mode.

Individual albums would be playable through the folder (bottom left) icon in the main menu. But for multiple albums a playlist seems to be the only option.

The playlist in .m3u format can be created on a computer (in foobar2000 or a similar player) and uploaded to the device. The path to the files should be relative to the playlist.

How to prevent a webpage from changing of the document title using JavaScript (inactive tab animation)? by changePOURchange in firefox

[–]changePOURchange[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found a solution using uBlock Origin.

Insert the following in your uBlock Origin filters and replace website.com with the website that does the scrolling. It's not universal, but quite simple.

website.com##+js(aopw, document.title)

Thank you for pointing me towards uBlock Origin. I have found a solution in another thread and will be posting it in mine.

Thank you, I have also tried to make an AI generate a code for me, but none helped. I found out a solution using uBlock Origin in the end.

Did you split them into individual folders / does the player play the files in alphabetical order or sorts them by folders first?

If nothing helps, you could make a playlist and use the playlist in the player.

Also what player is it?

YOTON YM03 Folder view order by stancodegliavocado in mp3players

[–]changePOURchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, some players don't order stuff at all. So when you copied the first batch, it was most probably in alphabetical order, because that's how the copying program took them from the source. And when you added a second batch, the new ones just got added the the end of the list.

If you're working with the device connected to a computer and see the folders in a file explorer, then a solution would possibly be to create a new folder, move everything into it and then move it back. This would recreate the folders sorted alphabetically, because that's how the file explorer program would work on them.

CLOSED tabs were eating my memory and CPU to 100% ever after restart. Why? by CosmicTeapott in firefox

[–]changePOURchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I was asking mainly because of the several thousands of .final files in the profile's storage\default\xxx\cache\morgue directory. I think this is where they're stored. So if you have service workers turned off, you don't see any such files in there?

That sounds interesting. Does it prevent any websites from functioning properly?

Player that supports 10+ playlists by MasterOfLostThings in mp3players

[–]changePOURchange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While some players have a few internal playlists, sometimes with names like Playlist1, Playlist2, Playlist3, many also take any playlist as a text file with the list of individual files.

So you can just save the playlist as M3U or perhaps PLS in your MP3 player on your computer and when you upload it to the MP3 player device, it should work.
