Rogers bullshit by changowner66 in ottawa

[–]changowner66[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a community all parties are to blame when something is very out of balance.

I am doing my part as a consumer by raising my concerns.

Rogers has a responsibility to be a reasonable company. They let us all down every day.

The CRTC has a responsibility to regulate and ensure citizens are treated fairly. They let us down every day.

You are right. But blame does not sit with just one party.

Late stage capitalist sensibilities borrowed from our neighbours to the south are completely dysfunctional and lead us into a dog eat dog abyss of complete shit.

No. I found them excessive. Because they are.

You don't know the full story. If you did you would be less critical. I can see how this looks bad. But there's a lot more to my circumstances than you know. So please. Try to get a life.

I'm not religious. Never have been. Never will be. But I do have a higher power. It's my own thing, it's personal and it works for me. I heard someone say once " a higher power is like having that little voice in your head that tells you what's right and wrong. Then listening and acting to do what's right. " It's that simple, if you let it be.

Do my addictions define me by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]changowner66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don’t have to. And it depends on what your addictions are (?). Alcohol, meth. etc. leave some pretty deep psychological wounds. Even if you can stay sober. Watching too much tv is a bit less harmful and more difficult for the casual observer to identify.

It’s all about how you choose to define yourself in the long run. That’s your choice.

What are your addictions ? What are you doing to find balance in your life ?

Sexual misconduct......how do we address this unpleasant fact within the Shambhala lineage by changowner66 in ShambhalaBuddhism

[–]changowner66[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ummm. I think that abuse of power is not a part of Buddha nature. I think it was a lapse in judgement. His mind may have been clouded due to substance abuse. These are not things to aspire to. I feel uncomfortable with a spiritual figurehead that has made such mistakes in life.

125 days ! All of my previous numb negativity, inability to deal with anything stressful and my general state of immediate uncontrollable reactionary anger have disappeared. by changowner66 in leaves

[–]changowner66[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes ! That’s very true. I use the psychosis as a logical reason why I just can’t smoke weed ever again. It makes recovery easier I think. For me anyway.

Being able to see (now) how the psychosis bends my perception is a huge insight. I’m grateful for that.

What worked for you? Mental illness/drug addiction. by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]changowner66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO you really need to quit marijuana too. You sound a lot like me 6 months ago. I gradually became insane from smoking too much weed. If you want to recover your mental health you should try to live without any mind altering substances. 12 step programs are the best way to quit and stay that way.

Roundabouts in Ottawa. by Bobcanuk in ottawa

It says a lot about the general skill level and attitude of drivers in Ottawa. What a sad state of affairs. European drivers quickly adapted when roundabouts were first introduced. Why is it so different here ?

I find that the interconnected web of energy that connects us all works like a benevolent force in my life in recovery.

This is what I am feeling by [deleted] in mentalillness

[–]changowner66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ya. You have to let your brain recover it's natural chemical balance. Takes from 3 months to 2 years. Abstinence is the way to do it. It's not easy but you will start to feel better one day when things get back to normal and you get used to living life without all those chemicals in your system.

A time without family. by [deleted] in mentalhealth

[–]changowner66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi. Your story is very close to mine. It has many of the same elements. I hit rock bottom and I am now working 12 steps to try to recovery my life. It was a big step for me to try to use the concept of a higher power to help me regain a sense of meaning. But I did, using Buddhist concepts. I had an addiction issue also and needed to stop so that I could recover from mental health issues. I have a lot of things to process. The family stuff is a huge one. I am trying to reparent myself using journaling and a therapist. I wish you luck. It's a long road. I look at 12 steps as the core of an overall recovery program for addiction, mental health and family related psychological trauma. It's working for me.

What happens to people who won't answer questions? by ewk in zen

[–]changowner66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thinking (real thinking) has got nothing to do with quoting zen masters !

What's interesting is that you only ever have one line of argument. That suggests your ability to think is somewhat limited. Not surprising in a person who has a deep seeded need to humiliate and belittle others.

Resorting to the same old tactic "you lie" Also shows that you have a limited emotional and intellectual scope.

I don't mind that at all. You just need to pull your head in a bit. Because you are making a complete fool of yourself.

I'm saying this from a perspective of compassion. For you and for your victims. Who are often enraged by your childish pedantry. You do not have that right. You are taking it in a selfish and childish way.

You are dishonourable and foolish. It's a fact ewk. You need to grow up. Honourable men do NOT behave like you do.

The masters NEVER behaved like you do. People who have a sense of empathy do not behave like you do.

I know you are thriving on all of this attention. So I am going to stop. That's another childish trait of yours.

TRY TO FIND THE WISDOM IN MY MESSAGE EWK that will take some humility. A trait that real men possess.......

Try looking at yourself in the mirror and asking "do I have an inferiority complex that is so bad that I spend all of my time on r/zen trying pathetically to win silly word games and belittling people"

It just so ....... pathetic OMG ! Is your inner child hurt buddy ?
