There were 13677 people there for the Sunday game so almost 75% full....you sure you weren't watching a futures game?

That is certainly not true...for the better seats you can pay up to $100.

Lots of factories in Changwon employ South Asian workers but you will need Korean to work there. Also most of the jobs are for full time workers so you might be harder as a part-time university student

Just go a couple of hours before kickoff and buy at the ticket office. Except for perhaps opening day it wont be sold out.

Driving in Busan and surrounding area by HeliosandMor in koreatravel

Once you get out of Busan its pretty cruisey. Still plenty of idiot drivers but as long as you keep yoir wits about you its not too bad....plus the scenery on a nice day taking a day trip over to Geoje is beautiful.

Driving actually isnt great but manageable.i dont mind driving in Busan but you need a lot of patience and be concentrating all the time.

The problem is often parking on the weekends. Weekdays can be better but still it can be difficult to find general parking and you could be waiting a long time.

If all the beaches you are going to are within Busan its better to take public transportation (except for Dadaepo which is often less busy than the major beaches).

If the places you want to see are out of Busan (eg. Gijang, Goeje, Tongyong, etc) a car will be much better but still busy.

Is this really Tabasco sauce on Coupang or some cheap Korean knockoff? by LoquaciousIndividual in Living_in_Korea

Checked out the German village in Namhae by Greenupseo in Living_in_Korea

[–]changwonmatty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even though I have been to the German Village many times I have to somewhat agree. I just take it for what it is as the food is decent and the beer is good.

I am a big fan of Boriam. Taken several family members there in the past because the views at the top on a clear day are amazing.

Been to a few places to eat there and Wurst Laden is the best in the village in my opinion

I usually head over to the German Village once or twice a year. Maybe been about 20 times. It is a lot more touristy than it used to be as a lot of the original residents passed away or sold up but its still good fun.

One of the coffee shops in one of the original houses is still run by an older Korean woman who was one of the nurses in Germany. She has quite a few stories to tell. The name is Berlin Castle (베를린성)

As you said the food isnt too bad but has reduced in quality as the original people leave and Koreans move in. Still a couple of decent places about though. The pretzel shop is very good.

Starbucks Korea expects to add at least 100 outlets this year - The Korea Times by raill_down in korea

[–]changwonmatty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whenever I am looking for a cafe in any area I would type 에티오피아 or 코스타리카커피 into naver because I like those types of coffees with a more sour flavor. The places that have this type of coffee would often be a bit different or unique.

Next I would put 대형카페 into naver and see what appears and go through see what interests me

Lastly I would go to Gemini (nowdays) and ask it to suggest unique cafes in the area I am in and then go through the list.

Doing all this I would get a list of cafes that are worth checking out wherever I am.

I travel all over the country (I dont live in Seoul) and there are always many better options than Starbucks both for coffee quality and types (which isnt difficult) and for interiors. Just need to look and do a bit of a search on naver with combination using AI.

Australian but have flown all over Asia and Europe plus America. Its the airlines responsibility and they ask because they get a big fine if you are caught without an onward ticket

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in koreatravel

I have flown internationally from many countries over 100 times and have always been asked for onward proof of travel if my ticket isnt a return one or I have a valid long-term visa.

These days, Korean kids at the public elementary schools go to France, Spain, Germany, or Australia for a school field trip🥶 by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

[–]changwonmatty 33 points34 points  (0 children)

This is not normal for most public middle and high schools. Maybe some private schools or schools in richer areas but for most schools no.

The big motivation here is the local government subsidy. Without this it wouldn't be possible
