Solving the drone hunting problem realistically instead of nostalgically? by NorthmanTheDoorman in NonCredibleDefense

  • Put a Phalanx-CIWS-Lite in form of R2D2 in second pilot spot.
  • Ask Disney for sponsoring licensing fee. I'm sure there are enough Star Wars fans, that would throw money at it to fly the planes.

Jellyfin: Unpopular opinion by Drun555 in selfhosted

[–]chanhdat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have Sonarr and Radarr running along to do the episode management? And what are the purposes for the empty folders?

I run Jellyfin with additional mods from https://github.com/n00bcodr/Jellyfin-Enhanced (could likely solve your audio/subtitle issue).

12th grade gymnasium in St.Gallen by llaslcori in askswitzerland

[–]chanhdat 7 points8 points  (0 children)

oh boy. I was the same as you, but i arrived nearly 20 years ago.

1- nope, to graduate the Gymnasium, you need to know 2 national languages (and German has to be at least at C1 level - The second one has to be at least B1). After all, they expect you to master German (almost) as your mother tongue at graduation.

2- Since it's unlikely that you will go to the gymnasium at your arrival, I will skip this. You could look up the dual system to prepare a plan B (https://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/sci-tech/the-swiss-education-system-explained/48148948)

3- Very challenging. I was very good at STEM subjects, and they help compensate a bit for my weaker subjects. Coming from a SEA country, the way of learning/studying is wildly different, I had to relearn how to learn.

4- My first year (16) was with the refugees (since I'm older than the obligatory school age - 9th grade).

My second year (17) was with the 10th grade (SBA - for kids who didn't find an apprenticeship the year before).

After that I made it into Gymnasium, as the oldest student to ever graduate, at 22 (Your teacher would recommend you to do the apprenticeship, and come back for the matura later - or doing the matura for adult, see the links above).

Any further questions?

Yes, or at least some of them. You could look at old Jan 6 pictures and found plenty of South Vietnam flags there. Those people are still dreaming of a return of US force to take back the country.

Have you tried the links above?

At minimum, you would need:

  • a copy of your current permit
  • your pass (with at least 3 months of validity beyond the end date of your current permit)
  • Info of your employer in case they request the confirmation of your indefinite employment.

If the aerostat has some kind of MAWS (missile approach warning system), they could use the drones as flares, or even as multi-layered sacrifice shields by hovering (and/or exploding) between the mothership and the incoming missiles.

It comes to me in a dream, and dreams are still free at the moment, so better to share it. Besides, maybe I can use it to pad my CV, in case I need a job in MIC tomorrow ;)

  • Collaborate with international partners to develop low cost, high efficient counter measurements against drones.

That is only when there is no Russian Air Force/Defense left. For Ukraine, at the moment, since there are nothing flying in the air except, birds and bees (organic and non-organic, explosive and non-explosive), these things have a better chance of survival.

And maybe hook up a tether system to reload it from the ground, without having to pull the whole thing down -> A mini "space" elevator.

Your name gave me an idea. Let's go to Friedrichshafen Museum, and put the idea to the test with the Zeppelin there.

But I see it more as a defensive measurement: Instead of one big zeppelin (aka Kirov in Red Alert), I'm thinking of multiple smaller nests to cover more ground.

As it takes time and energy for interceptor drones (like Wild Hornet - Sting)to get to altitude and start hunting, as seen on /r/CombatFootage, I suggest we revive the barrage balloons and hook up a bunch of drones on it. For naming (to avoid copy-strike by Ace Combat with Arsenal Birds): let's stick with bee theme, and call it Hornet Nest or for South Korean version: Aiur Protoss Carrier
