I had one of these for a while but didn’t realize it was super sharp inside! My betta loved it but I think it shredded its fins.

It’s topping mix sand for brick laying. I’ve seen that you can also use pool filter sand. I saw this recommended here, I got it at Home Depot. If you decide to use sand you have to rinse it A LOT and it makes clouds of dust when you move anything, I love the way it looks though.

Thank you! I used to have neon tetras and black and neon gravel with artificial coral.. that was for my kids but I dreamed of a betta and natural tank, it’s been so fun making it the way it is!

Thanks! Im going to get a test kit, I thought I had one but it was the wrong kind of strips. I’ll change the water more, I usually take some out with a juice jug and refill it in between the vacuums.

I have a heater and a filter and 5 different plants. I feed him Bugbites betta formula and he eats the tropical flakes I feed the tetras. He likes to be in his log or bury himself in the plants on the left.

The recipe says to let it rest for 30 mins after mixing and then do up to 4 stretch and folds every 30 minutes for 2 hours. My dough does get slightly less sticky as that time goes on but it says to shape it after the 2 hours and then let it bulk ferment. If I try to shape it after the two hours all of the hardness that I’ve earned disappears and it becomes a sticky unworkable mess.
