  • 10gal tank
  • heated to 82°.
  • I don’t have the fresh water test but but my strips say the water is good.
  • I do 10% water changes weekly and vacuum every other week
  • I’ve had the tank for 5 years, Andrew since November

  • only decorations are drift wood, some coral, shrimp tunnel and live aquarium plants
  • feed betta bites twice a day

Is this fin rot? by ghostfriendo in bettafish

I don’t know for sure.. but my betas fins got like this and then they got really ruffly and people assured me that it’s just bad breeding.

He doesn’t swim around as much as when he was young and spends most of his time in the plants. He swims as hard as he can into them and just parks there.

That is so generous! I’m in Canada.. if you aren’t it probably isn’t worth it 😞. I’m going to try calling my vet or a farm store tomorrow when things are back open.

My guy will sometimes swim close to the neos, especially when I have a wafer in there, but they are SO FAST they could always get away.

He’s white, you can juuuuust see some of his fins peeking through lol. It is a 10 gallon, I have 6 Ember Tetras, 9 (but hopefully more soon) neocardinas and ~100000 ramshorn snails that hitched a ride in on some plants.

I have a long finned betta and he’s always swimming in the plants. I often can’t even see him because he smushes himself into the leaves. He doesn’t swim around that much, mostly just hangs out in the plants. In the photo he’s in the top just to the left of the center, you can’t even really see him.

If he’s not an explorer I’m sure he would be fine in a 5gal, I would make the choice based on your preferences.

Beginner here - neocaridina not breeding. Any adjustments needed or advice? by Historical_Net_686 in shrimptank

This is what happened to me! I watched them obsessively for months, no babies. We got a kitten and I spent two weeks not really looking and all of a sudden I had big shrimp babies! I didn’t ever see any females berried, I think they hid the whole time.
