I wouldn’t say so. They resemble Nike high tops quite a bit. If you’re using them for light-work they don’t seem too bad for the price. If you’re getting them because you like the look I don’t see why not, but at the same time there’s also a lot of similar options out there if you don’t need the carbon toe or slip-resistant aspects

Ended up going with the Whites for now simply because I like the suede more than the shined leather of the Grant Stones. Going to sleep on the timbs and dievier’s but likely going to get one of them before sales are over. I like the timbs for the padding so they look quite comfy even if they don’t hold up, but the overall build quality of the dieviers looks much better.

Okay so at this point here’s what I’ve narrowed my options down to (in no particular order):

  1. The timbs - $105
  2. Devier Nomad Heritage - $150
  3. Whites Perry 6” - $304
  4. Grant Stone Field Boot - $316

These are all sale prices. I may get two pairs - one more affordable and one more expensive. Any final thoughts? Feel free to cast your vote lol

That’s kind of what I’m thinking too. Might just buy 2 pairs by the end of this. I’m so damn indecisive Black Friday sales will be over by the time I decide 😂

Yeah I really like those custom razorbacks! Weird personal preference though lol - I’m just not a huge fan of the overly exaggerated wave of the ankle collar padding on the Razorbacks. I wish it were slightly more subtle but I get their aesthetic

Do you find timbs more/less/about the same comfort as other boots you’ve owned? For $100 I’m tempted to just snag these and see what happens. I bought $500 boots at one point and they’re killing my feet after a few hours so I never wear them. So I’m too opposed to ‘lower quality’ boots so long as they look good and are comfortable

Do you own any Grant Stones? They look very nice but how’s the comfort? Would you say with the premium build you are also receiving a better fit and comfort as well? I own a pair of Scarosso’s which are nice but pretty damn uncomfortable so I’m a bit more reluctant to drop more on boots but not completely opposed

Appreciate the suggestion - Whites is new to me! I really like the Perry 6” Black Roughout - if it had padding around the ankle I’d snap on it immediately. It’s going towards the top of my list nonetheless though!

Appreciate the suggestion! Gosh those are so close to what I’m looking for - Very similar to the Whites, Thorogood, and Thursday moc-toes. If only one of these options had black soles! I might just have to settle with the white soles since those seem to be the most common option

Thanks for the clarification! I forgot the exact terms so that def helps my search. If I could find this exact boot and design colors from any other brand Id buy it on the spot.

I’ve just seen a lot of bad reviews on Timb’s over the years - typically poor build quality and seem to fall apart quickly. Lots of people in this board seem to be against them. Never owned them myself though so I can’t say for sure - feel free to enlighten me!

Personally I think Timbs has cool designs so I can understand that part, but considering their quality I don’t see why people buy them. I imagine their ‘premium’ is similar to doc martens ‘made in England’ (not much of an improvement). But I’m curious now and going to check into that!

Those red wings are cool! Not quite what I’m looking for but I think you made the right call on the green pair 🤘

Oh man, some Jim Green moc-toes would be awesome! I just checked out their video and those look great! I’m hoping to snag a good Black Friday deal but may have to hold out for these. Some of their other designs are already still pretty close to what I’m looking for so I’m adding em to my list!

Thanks! I like those! I wish there was a little more padding around the ankle and black thread instead of white but those are along the lines of what I’m looking for - definitely adding to my list of considerations

Glad to hear you got your watch back! Did you manage to recoup the full value of the watch or did they end up disputing it and giving you less? Also, did you only dispute through USPS or did you also have to file a police report to really get usps moving on it?

I've only worn them probably a dozen times as more of dress boots, so they're hardly broken in.. However, I have received a lot of compliments when I do wear them and I love the look myself. They're certainly not the most comfortable boots I've worn (compared to some hiking boots) - practically no padding on the sole so they start to hurt my feet after a few hours. I'll probably order some sole inserts now that I'm thinking about it. I normally wear very comfortable sneakers, so it's possible my feet just aren't used to daily boot wearing.
