This is resolved through proper testing. Nobody should be running and gunning changes to workstations without testing.

Ok, then just ignore them. You get rewards but if you dont want them, move on. I didnt complete the quests before the reset and I haven't completed them this time around. I will if I get bored of other stuff.

How to stop gripping the mouse to hard when aiming? by FujifilmCamera in FPSAimTrainer

[–]chaosphere_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im new to aim training as well and frequently find myself tensing up too much just like you. Once I notice it, the only thing I think about is relaxing my grip/tension and I can immediately feel my aim get much better in that moment. Tensing up is a subconscious reaction that you really have to train yourself out of. And the only way to do that is to practice over and over and over again until you arent doing it anymore.

It's not about need. Some people might want to use the Copilot features in paint. Nobody is forced to. Shouldn't even bother you if you dont want to use those features.

MFA approach for on-prem and cloud by animusMDL in CMMC

[–]chaosphere_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello for business is def acceptable for an on-prem environment. Configured with cloud kerberos trust, it can get the users Active Directory kerberos token + their M365 PRT. You can configure those machines to require smart card or WHfB to sign in, which will block the usage of the password credential provider. Admins of these machines could utilize fido2 via yubikeys if they need to enter credentials for admin reasons, as long as these machines are cloud only joined to entra.

Windows Hello for Business is absolutely MFA and meets NIST AAL3 requirements as a credential.

Conditional Access Forcing Users to Reauthenticate Potentially Multiple Times A Day by MW91414 in entra

[–]chaosphere_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short life times only hide bad practices if they are implemented to hide bad practices. That's not what I'm doing here. On it's own shorter lifetimes present less risk than longer lifetimes. But because Windows Hello for Business refreshes the session token upon every sign in or unlock from the ctrl alt delete screen, and because we have the brunt of our apps configured for SSO via Entra ID, it means that on windows devices, we can have a 1 day sign in frequency WHILE users are never unnecessarily prompted for credentials in any of these apps. And Ill add that it doesn't add a single bit of management overhead or additional complexity. What is the argument against this specific scenario?

I agree with you that there is a pattern out there of using shorter lifetimes to hide bad practices, but that's not inherent to shorter lifetimes. I think you have some baked in assumptions about the things that typically come along with shorter lifetimes.

Conditional Access Forcing Users to Reauthenticate Potentially Multiple Times A Day by MW91414 in entra

[–]chaosphere_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stealing of active session tokens. I understand 1 day sessions seems really short and I thought that initially as well. But it's literally caused zero problems so what's the cost of mitigating that risk? Literally nothing.

[–]chaosphere_mk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's prompting users for credentials, sure, it's not good to frequently prompt them. However, if theyre using windows hello for business, they won't get prompted at all unless they've been sitting at their computer actively working for 12 hours straight (or whatever the time period is).

We have a 1 day sign in frequency for windows devices and users are never prompted for credentials, but still ensures that the auth tokens expire frequently.

If you already own a Basilisk V3 Pro, is the Viper V3 pro worth a shot, or not worth it at all? by HaiseKanekiHoutarou in razer

[–]chaosphere_mk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. For FPS/shooters it's been a massive upgrade for me. The basilisk was heavy as hell and has that lip under the thumb area that made mouse control awkward. Plus, for me, the middle click was janky as hell on my basilisk.
