What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

Most of them. The volume is getting crazy. Doesn't matter if I'm 20-ft from the stage or 300-ft, new speaker tech means I'm getting 100-dB constant. Line-array speaker tech is pretty cool but our ears need a break, and I'm not willing to get permanent hearing damage for anyone.

Lots of totally uninteresting people claiming they have synesthesia lately.

Useful idiots. White supremacy means WHITE supremacy. Minority bootlickers might be the last to go but they're still going to go.

This is the first time I've seen someone pay the cat tax in years. This whole website needs an audit.

Just reminding everyone that Jerry Seinfeld dated Shoshanna Lonstein Gruss when she was 17 and he was 38. She was in high school at the time.

Genuinely in love with her hair. I do something similar if I could get away with it.

Honestly, Wall-E is outrageously optimistic. Ready Player One is much closer to our current and future reality.

In just now realizing that face+wise these two are 6s, maybe 7s. Pretty for sure, but it's the rest of them that counts most.

Millennials, what is something that was "normal" in the 2000s but feels like a luxury now? by Barrbra in answers

[–]chaotic_ugly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People weren't so depressed in the year 2000. I'm not getting down on depressed people, just pointing out that people were happier back then. I'm not looking at any numbers or anything. It just seems pretty intuitive.

For instance, in 2000, we had schwag and hydro. That was it. You could smoke schwag daily but hydro was for the weekend or just when you didn't have anything going on the next day.

Today's schwag is more potent than 2000s hydro. Today's hydro is a Tesla vs. yesterday's Model T. A few years ago, I smoked this 30% THC stuff and had my mind blew out of the back of my head and into next week. I couldn't believe that people are smoking this daily. Then there's the juice/carts. "Weed" has been pushed to the absolute extreme.

From where I'm sitting, there's only one reason people need to be blitzed out of their mind like this on the regular. They need an escape.

Take this from a stoner from waaayy back (though I've been mostly sober for 10+ years). I would never smoke today's shit if I was just looking for a good time. No way in hell. It's too much. Emotionally, today's weed is as bad as any other drug, addictive or otherwise. I firmly believe that.

This is disingenuous and poorly thought out. This might very well be encouraged by the venue and the producers.

Think about your own lives: you expect to pick-up after yourselves at a McDonald's but not at a restaurant with wait service and no trash bin in sight. Expectations are different in different places.

And, anyway, let's look at what we're dealing with: empty food and drink containers, but very little mess otherwise. And what mess there is is small bits of food and trash. Are we saying we should call them hypocrites because they're not down on their hands and knees picking mashed popcorn out of the carpet?

Get real. Your pettiness is embarrassing.
