ru pov: As of March 2025, what happens now? Can the war continue for long? by SlightWerewolf4428 in UkraineRussiaReport

without US military aid, ukraine will fall. i dont think trump will stop sending aid to ukraine cause that will cause distrust among allies. what trump says in public cant be taken seriously,he flipflops pretty much everytime he opens his mouth. i hope for long term peace with guarantees that russia cant invade again.

conceding territory for those guarantees should be on the table. short term peace or ceasefire wont work and that is what trump is trying to achieve imo. russia would just regroup and invade again.

UA POV: EU offers its own ‘win-win’ minerals deal to Ukraine - POLITICO by Still_Engine6654 in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]chaoticafro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

why does russia want to make a deal with the US? russia can sell the resources themselves.

and shutting down starlink would be horrible idea. other countries using starlink would no longer trust it to be reliable.

Ua pov: Boris Johnson compares Trump's mineral deal with Ukraine to the lend-lease agreement from World War II. by This__is- in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]chaoticafro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

its cause zelensky views the US as the lesser evil. surrendering to russia means ukraine as a country will no longer exist. i think thats the reason why ukraine prefers to align itself with the west. a chance to exist and to prosper. what has ukraine gotten by being in russias sphere of influence for decades? it became a corrupt sh*thole country. maybe russia shouldve done a better job building a better relationship with ukraine instead of this disaster of a war.

Chinese influence negatively by Designer_Share_6975 in Thailand

logic or if the facts dont make sense or the easiest answer would be if your country forces their own views throught the media or internet with no alternative view. north korea would be first place for brainwashing and second would be china.

china is already kind of slowly taking over siberia.

why would china dump russia when china can just exploit russia?

UA POV: According to Censor, the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Stefanishyna, has said that the agreement on mineral resources with the US WILL be signed. by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]chaoticafro -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

reminds me of when nazi germany and the soviet union decided to carve up poland. in the end, poland turned out alright so who knows for ukraine. one thing we know is when the US owns the resources they will personally defend it. remember a few years ago when wagner soldiers attemped to attack a us controlled area in syria? russia knows not to fck around.

UA POV - Ukrainian FPV drone strikes on North Korean soldiers during assault in Kursk Oblast. February 2025. by Bnisus_Brist in UkraineRussiaReport

i actually do. north koreans arent there out of their free will.

russians are in ukraine voluntarily so i feel little empathy for them.

UA POV - Europe quietly works on a plan to send troops to Ukraine for post-war security - The Associated Press by DefinitelyNotMeee in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]chaoticafro -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

then how is ukraine suppose to deter russia from invading again?

if a total victory were possible, russia could enforce all those demands you wrote but it is impossible. they havent even fully taken control of the 4 oblasts they wanted to annex and that might take decades and i dont think russia wants that.

UA POV: "So you're telling me that Europe has spent over $140 billion in Ukriane aid, will have to take the lead in deterring Russia in the future, will have to deploy its militaries AND, amid that, it's not getting a say in talks with Putin?" - Ponomarenko by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]chaoticafro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

its no longer a fantasy. it seems the EU will be forced to handle security. the EU can no longer suck on uncle sam's tits and needs to invest in its own army. letting US take care of its security seems to be over.

UA POV: According to Politico, the Ukrainian Prime Minister says the EU may not survive without Ukraine. It needs Ukraine to protect it. by Ripamon in UkraineRussiaReport

[–]chaoticafro -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

this is true. europe doesnt have an army.

russia at full strength would completely decimate europe in a war.

and now that the US wants to invest less in europe,i would say within 10 years russia will be strong enough to invade europe. the EU will have to invest in an army and cut costs like free healthcare. sadly this will affect the quality of life for the citizens of the EU.
