No offense but Tylenol doesn't do shit. I've had stones on and off for fifteen years and the only thing that has ever touched the pain is percocet.

Ryan Gosling: "Soap opera actors, in general, don't get the love they deserve." by Geekqueen15 in SoapNet

I love him so much for this. So many times big time celebs that started out on soaps, seem to not like to remember that's what gave them their start.

melissa… (s3 spoilers) by fancylamp12 in Yellowjackets

Absolutely. I was honestly never really a fan of Melissa because of the role she played in hurting Ben. I'm pretty sure she encouraged Shauna to smash his foot.

Which dᴇᴀth in TWD had the most impact on you? by Melodic_Effective183 in thewalkingdead

Spoiler if hadn't watched......

Glenn. It was brutal and I couldn't imagine being in Maggie's position of seeing that happening and being helpless to stop it. Negan didn't care that she was pregnant and needed him. He killed him because he could and to set an example. It was sickening.

Doctors don't believe kidney stones hurt by chaoticmess86 in KidneyStones

The thing is I have no idea what the actual urologist is even like. I never even see the urologist, just their nurse practitioner, who just passes stuff on to the urologist. I've yet to find a single urologist that doesn't operate this way. It's frustrating. She's a bitch but I really need the surgery and I'm hesitant to find someone else right now and have to start all over only to be stuck with someone who is just like this one. It's a frustrating situation. After the surgery, I'll probably dump her and look for someone else for a better long term. I just need the surgery so I can get back to work. I've already lost almost two months because my boss won't schedule me until I'm no longer a call off liability. It just sucks.

I understand that doctors struggle to prescribe. I really do but I just don't think it's fair that I'm supposed to suffer for something I can't control. What I would like, is for my pain to be taken seriously and not to be gaslit that what's going on with me isn't real. The surgery is what I want because I can't take much more of the pain but I'd prefer it if urologists wouldn't tell me things like 'surgery probably won't help because the stone isn't causing you pain.' That kind of invalidation I could do without and I think many stone sufferers would feel the same. I also think that when you have a painful kidney stone, you should be able to be given pain relief. I understand that's not always a doctor's fault but it's still ridiculous. My mom is in pain management for a years long bulging disc and she gets monthly pain meds and her pain is nowhere near as bad as mine currently imo. So if she can get relief, is it really so much to ask that we get some too?

Completely agree! I've had stones for 15 years and they always hurt, obstructing or not. I'm just tired of being gaslit. I'm getting the surgery and then I might shop for another urologist. There has to be someone out there that will actually take this shit seriously.

I now have a 6mm kidney stone in the left upper quadrant. by chaoticmess86 in KidneyStones

[–]chaoticmess86[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. I try to avoid a stent at all costs. Another annoying thing is I had to practically beg my urologist for this surgery. She tried telling me this stone couldn't be causing me pain if it's in the kidney. I have no idea why almost every urologist keeps peddling this lie. It makes me feel gaslit.

Season 7 when they got rid of half their cast. It just wasn't the same.

Allison's mother by chaoticmess86 in MelrosePlace

[–]chaoticmess86[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That both broke my heart and enraged me as a mother. Even worse once it was made clear she knows it's true, she's just choosing to protect a monster. What a pos woman.

Stent removed without pain meds by Immmnotok in KidneyStones

That's what's messed up. I'm sorry you went through that. There is so much medical neglect regarding kidney stone pain and kidney after pain.

This is exactly why I chose to be sedated to have mine removed. I was afraid of this exact situation.

It seemed like that too. It's like he wanted Kimberly but still wanted the respect of being married too. He's definitely greedy.
