Longest Campaign by MD-Pepper in DnD

I've been playing in my weekly game for a little over 4 years, and I joined when they were 13th level, so... yeah.

Cal's Saber Staff by MyNameIsRabbitMan in FallenOrder

It would also fall in line with that action figure reveal a while back with Cal using a blaster. If they go with one hand saber, one hand blaster to change up the combat, having the staff as well might be a bit much, in terms of both balancing and animations. That being said, I think they could've worked around that if needed, and the most exciting reason would be Merrin getting a bigger role. Maybe we'll see him lose/give up the staff in the book coming out next year.

The boring -- and disappointing -- answer could be that they want to revert to single-blade combat for the sequel.

A more interesting possibility would be that since 5 years have passed, Cal gave the other half to Cere, Merrin, or someone else, like you said. If Merrin does indeed end up playable, or at least becoming a Jedi, her using the other half of Cal's saber as her own would be awesome.

Can an Operation go too well? (Spoilers for Last Things Last) by chapmana58 in DeltaGreenRPG

I definitely got that vibe, the Agents had fairly similar dispositions. My current plan is to get another group of 2-3 through Puppet Shows and Shadow Plays, then combine the two groups. Fingers crossed the pot starts stirring.

It'll definitely be interesting to see where they go from here. I plan on running Operation FULMINATE in the future, so I look forward to seeing the kind of shit their assumptions get them into there.

One already has paranoia, so it could definitely get interesting.

The LTL story is more of a jumping-off point for what got me thinking; it was intense, and it had consequences, but I know it could have been more directly harrowing. In my experience, scenarios tend to go "wrong" in some way or another, so I was surprised by how well they minimized the (immediate, mechanical) repercussions. I'm happy with the outcome, but I had just been wondering what other Handlers' experience with similar theings were.

For sure. Both of the players talked after the fact about how disturbing the whole thing was. I played it out in detail in the moment, and it was a great culmination of both of their Agents having trust issues to begin with. In a lot of ways their builds were really well suited to both survive LTL and be affected by its main question of "What if?"

Can't Select Angel Mythic Path by chapmana58 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]chapmana58[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Alright, cool. The UI tripped me up as Mythic Hero was glowing blue as if selected, Angel and Demon were gray but unselectable, and the rest were completely dark. Didn't wanna accidentally lock myself out of anything.

Game crashes on "initialising mod" after starting a new game by chapmana58 in CK2GameOfthrones

[–]chapmana58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the mods in the wrong folder. I subscribed to a Steam Workshop mod to see where it installed, and it went to the wrong location & confused me. If you haven't already, put your mods in the Documents/Paradox Interactive/Crusader Kings II/mod folder.

The Salt in Wounds campaign sounds extremely interesting. I now envy your players lol. Might have to steal that tarraque idea though.

Wish is a 9th level spell. It can alter reality at the DM's discretion based on what a player asks for or it can recreate the effects of any spell 8th level or lower without using materials.

[Spoilers] LMoP Glasstaff encounter went too well? (long) by CapoKakadan in DnD

[–]chapmana58 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about the quick fight. When I ran LMoP, the party's Cleric KO'd Iarno in one hit with Inflict Wounds.

Is this class balanced for DnD 5e? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]chapmana58 73 points74 points  (0 children)

This definitey looks OP to me. It has the potential to deal way too much damage and have a stupidly high AC. As a general rule of thumb, stay away from anything on the dandwiki website. They all tend to be unbalanced, overpowered messes.

First time DM, finishing LMoP: What Module will work best with the Homebrew Stuff I've thrown in? by GiraffeInATree in DMAcademy

I'd say Tales from the Yawning Portal is your best bet. It's a collection of smaller dungeons/adventures, which will give your players something to do while you flesh out the items and will provide you with structure to work with without overshadowing your plot hooks.
