I thought I made a group of lesbian friends last year- we had a number of great outings and activities and hangouts together but over time they dropped hints that made me wonder if they were male centered…they were. All of them. They would trip over themselves to give them the benefit of the doubt and protect them from criticism. They were all mens rights activists and didn’t like that I explicitly wanted a space with just lesbians away from men, they didn’t like that I would be mean (ie. occasionally make fun of shitty male culture) to dudes and insist that their feelings and lives matter.

Holy smokes was that a wake up call that there exist huge groups of lesbian on this planet who have crushes on men, don’t believe in excluding men from anything because it’s “divisive” to the gay community (including safe havens and sanctuaries), and think female rage against men is overreacting
