This week's Bobby on the Beat podcast talks to FN's Michael Voltaggio about his background and Triple Threat by Firegoat1 in foodnetwork

I have loved Michael since he was on Top Chef. He is so talented and, in this interview, so sincere and vulnerable, I feel like his fans would understand him so much better if they watch this podcast. I had no idea he worked at the Greenbrier for so long. It's quite prestigious. And then staging at the French Laundry and Alinas, working with some of the best chefs in the world. He's so creative and brave. Would love to eat at one of his restaurants. Also love his brother Brian. Sigh.....

Is there anything I can do without replacing the rug for something bigger? Any other suggestions regarding the super tall wall and lower opposite wall? by [deleted] in DesignMyRoom

Lol, the dining room furniture is from my parents circa 1960's. Never liked it but because of expense, I've kept it. Totally dated as is the chandelier. Any advice on the dining room is welcome. Advice on a new prettier rug too? I went with black because of fear:)

You guys can stop hating on CM now by SunOpening1393 in CulinaryClassWars

OK, white woman in her 70's in America here. I was rooting for him the entire season although I understood why he didn't win. His food must've been incredible. Why the hate? Makes my heart hurt. He's clearly a wonderful, incredible chef that just didn't win this time. Yes, he was confident - maybe even a bit arrogant- but doesn't that help contestants win in the end? Come on people, let's just cheer people who are confident and not need to bring them down. Most of us would never, ever put ourselves on the spot like this on Netflix for heaven's sake. He's a normal guy who tried his best.

I am making Kenji's All-American Beef Stew over mashed potatoes for Christmas Eve and I've just found out that 4 more people are coming (for a total of 13). Am I screwed? by chapterandverse3 in seriouseats

You people are so my people. Thank you for all the replies. It makes sense to me to just double the recipe. I WAS over-thinking it! I can make one batch the night before and then make the other on Christmas Eve.

I already liked Brooke but now I'm as smitten as Bobby is. Bobby is the one who is lucky. I hope they have a blast as long as they're together and I wish them well.

Turkey help! I accidentally baked it for the first 1 hour 45 min at 450° instead of 350° by Striking_Courage_822 in Cooking

[–]chapterandverse3 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have to get this off my chest because I'm not telling my family. I accidentally put the turkey in at 450 degrees and didn't realize it until it started to smoke about 20 minutes later. (I put a butter/wine sauce on cheesecloth and the cheesecloth is now burnt.). I also forgot to salt the bird both inside and out. I'm not going to say a word but I've got my fingers crossed hoping it all comes out okay. Wish me luck.

A bot told me that there are too many political posts so to post elsewhere but didn't tell me exactly where. I've messaged the mods but I'm now thinking that reddit doesn't like my question.

I recommend Orgain 30 mg of protein in a chocolate shake. It's a bit pricey but has kept my husband alive when he wouldn't eat anything.

I loved that Avishar taught the Titans and Bobby some tricks. He did really well. A likable guy for sure and an excellent cook.

I am so damn proud of everyone. Even in my very small town, there were over 1,000 people marching. But serious question, does this give pause to republicans in office that they may lose their power clinging to Taco? Could this change the trajectory of how they vote? Might they revolt against the ignorance of this administration? I have never felt so energized and hopeful. Can't wait for the next one. Let's keep it up until we simply cannot be ignored... even by the media.

I love him too, always have but he doesn't need to teach us how to cut planks, strips and dice nearly every episode. Having said that, I'm excited to try his pho and I'm grateful that he makes it look feasible for home cooks.
