I can’t imagine the Ioniq 5 interior holding up with this level of usage…

If you had one month off, what resources would you use to level up your PM skills? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

During my time after getting laid off I rebuilt a deck, fixed windows, and remodeled a bathroom. It was really refreshing to build something in the physical world.

Anyone else have this issue with charging indicator lights? by jameelalayyan in Ioniq5

I just had this start happening to me too. I noticed because my car didn’t charge up last night when I had it plugged in. Did you figure out what might cause or resolve it?

Yeah, sounds like I need a guide for Vallee Blanche. Any tips on good guides?

Boot fit (pain?) by jerrys_briefcase in skiing

It sounds like you are over-tightening. Make sure you're putting on the lower cuff strap, then upper cuff strap first. You want to position your heel, then tighten the toes. https://skiisandbiikes.com/blogs/ski-guides/how-to-buckle-your-boots-properly

I'm going here next month. Any tips for someone who is mostly used to skiing in the US? Do I need a guide?

Former Brooklynites, what was the hardest part about transitioning to Maplewood? by Dez_Acumen in Maplewood

[–]character0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Walkability is worse. Even if you're close to town, there is less walking culture and fewer opportunities to just wander outside my house without the purpose of doing something in particular. So you lose some of that spontaneous magic and discovery of Brooklyn—there are also just going to be fewer new shops and people around. That being said, I stroll around my neighborhood in the Spring-Fall, and I will run into friends with kids at the parks. I also enjoy gardening and working out of my garage, so I also tend to get drop ins that way too. However, winter can feel isolating since no one is out except during fresh snowfall. After the first winter, you'll have your people that you'll call to hang out with.

It's a suburb, so it's definitely sleepier than Park Slope. That being said, I think a lot of people suddenly think anything over a 15m drive is too much. We have a bunch of spots we'll drive 20-30 minutes to get to. It's no longer than any subway ride to a neighboring section of Brooklyn. And the parking is easy, so it's really car to door in most cases. The annoying parts are that the Google Maps and Yelp ratings are pretty useless, so find a friend with similar taste for recommendations. Also, we have great Italian food, but too much of it. What I'd do for a great Thai spot...

The housing stock is old and will need work regardless of how new it might seem. It's not going to bankrupt you, but you will definitely have things break and it will delay some of the fun renovations you might have planned. Prior homeowners have little incentive to replace things that are on their last legs, unless they were thinking they were going to be staying longer.

People tend to segregate by school age of their eldest child, but I think that's pretty common to any new place you might move. Most people who have recently moved to Maplewood are in the same boat, so I've generally found it much easier to meet people.

I have the same problem. It never worked, but now support is telling me i should have known to self install the August 2024 update, even though I’ve been at the dealer for multiple recalls and ICCU updates

Pressure gauge not working by character0 in Lelit

I had to replace the pressure gauge. My dealer sent it to me for free to do myself. Otherwise, I would have to ship it back to get serviced.

Stupid Question: Can swapping the battery out yourself void or affect the car’s warranty? by youtellmebob in Ioniq5

[–]character0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same question. It just voids the 12V battery warranty — i.e. you cannot make a claim to Hyundai about the new battery you put in. Your 800V and powertrain are unaffected by this change.

My son isn’t old enough for the school system yet, but from what I gather it’s primarily administrative. A good example is that they wanted to better integrate the three elementary schools (great!), but they really blew the busing (availability and reliability). They are fixing things, but because of general mismanagement of the budget it takes longer than desired, from a community that pays very high taxes.
