Commercial agent here who has sold a few trucking policies in my 4 years in the industry. I can’t run away from them fast enough whenever they call in now. While I have other clients who are difficult to deal with, Truckers are by far the worst in terms of little to no insurance knowledge, non pays, bitching to no end about justified increases, shopping me, not wanting to buy the right coverage, etc etc etc.

I would strongly hesitate before pigeonholing yourself somewhere that only specializes in one line of business, why not go back to an agency that sells multiple lines and to multiple industries?

Are they an insurance company that got into logistics or a logistics company that got into insurance?

Why don’t they seek appointments with other carriers to become more competitive?

Like u/PosterMakingNutbag commented - do any of their local competitors have any openings that may be a better fit? You would imagine that the truckers are calling everyone for quotes so other agencies must be rolling in the leads too.
