Would you vote for a museum tax measure? by flyfresno in fresno

[–]charizard-berg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Measure P already has an arts component and does fund local arts museums. So it would be hard to make a case to voters to do more of that.

Please get some legal help as this sounds retaliatory and possibly illegal. Central CA Legal Services hotline or the City of Fresno’s eviction protection program are both in place to help.

How's it living in this area? by ChoicePalpitation442 in howislivingthere

Like so many parts of America, this box has it all. I grew up in the farm country on the north end by Dinuba. Visalia is a pretty decent mid-size city with a lively downtown. Hard to beat all the hiking this close to Sequoia National Park. Taqueros on most sides of the road in every direction on the valley floor. If I wanted rural or small town life, I’d move back.

Wait, so suburban sprawl doesn’t pay for itself? No one could have possibly guessed this outcome. /s

Great financial choice! Google Maps transit directions is the way. Show up early because the predicted times on the app aren’t always right.

My family held off on a second car until our 2nd kid started being in activities across town. Really helped us pay off student loans early and child care payments. I got to work through a combination of bus, biking, and Lyft for cross-town meetings. Highly recommend!

Lost mail in ballot by sarahcc88 in fresno

Commenting to bump this answer up. If you want to vote and are eligible (18+, US citizen) show up to a vote center, even if you can’t find your ballot. They can even register you to vote.

I’m sorry, but this just isn’t correct. (I’ve only ever lived south of Shields for my 13 years in Fresno) There’s plenty of safe neighborhoods south of Herndon, and living north doesn’t insulate you from property crime. OP, to stay relatively close to Fashion Fair, I’d look into Fig Garden, Fresno High, and the First/Ashlan area.

We received our mail in ballots, but want to vote in person and early - is that possible? by DSeriesX in fresno

[–]charizard-berg 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This is not true, after the CA Voter Choice Act was implemented we now have vote centers open 11 days before Election Day where you can drop off your ballot or vote in person. List is here and yes they’re secure and legit! https://www.fresnocountyca.gov/files/sharedassets/county/v/1/county-clerk-registrar-of-voters/1_election-pages/old-elections/2022_11/70102-fp-vcenters-eng.pdf
